Studies on Ultrasonic velocity, conductance, density and viscosity of Lanthanum (III) Chloride in the Dextrose – water mixed solvent system (original) (raw)
Abstract
Ultrasonic velocity, density, viscosity and conductivity have been measured in solutions of lanthanum chloride in water and dextrose-water mixtures at 303.15K. The ultrasonic velocity data have been used to evaluate various acoustic parameters such as isoentropic compressibility, inter-molecular free length, acoustic impedance, molar sound velocity and molar compressibility. These parameters, along with the B-coefficient calculated from the Jones-Dole equation have been used to study solute-solvent interactions in these systems. Viscometric data, along with conductometric measurements, provide a more complete analysis of the ion-solvent interaction.
