Suicidal behaviors of children and young people are a major public health concern. In Portugal, the increasing awareness of this problem is well reflected by the implementation of the first national suicide prevention plan from 2013 to 2017. One of its main goals is to increase information and education about mental health in schools. By use of a setting approach and empowerment strategies, we pretend to develop the teachers’ and educators’ skills to adequately handle with new situations. To analyse the psychometric characteristics of instrument designed to assess mental health of Portuguese teachers. The instrument has been developed to monitor the learning results of teacher training in a massive open online course (MOOC).
