At the present stage of development of education, Kazakhstan higher school faces the task of improving the quality of training, which with the introduction of new state educational standards (both for undergraduate and graduate) is associated with the prospect of implementing a technological approach to learning, science-based new pedagogical and information technologies. Technologically Enhanced Language Learning and Instruction: Подорожі.UA: Beginners’ Ukrainian

This article reports on the development of a new blended-learning model for beginners’ Ukrainian language learning and instruction, an innovative approach in foreign language education. This model is a combination of face-to-face and online learning and is a response to new realities in education, and language learning in particular, in our fast-paced, technologically enhanced everyday life. The authors focuses on the design of their new blended-learning textbook Подорожі.UA (Travels.UA), which contains a considerable online component, closely interconnected with in-class, or face-to-face, learning and teaching materials. They discuss their approach to the pedagogical design of this new model, used in the textbook, and also address piloting challenges. The study concludes with a report on the overall success of this project and invites others who teach Ukrainian at postsecondary levels to pilot the project in their institutions.

Teaching foreign languages in Ukraine have undergone crucial changes with the introduction of multimedia technologies aimed at simulating native speaking environment in audition and oral communication. These rapidly paved their way both into the students’ learning and the innovative teaching techniques. The paper focuses on solving the problems of traditional teaching framework adaptation to the newly-appeared multimedia techniques, their integration into the educational process within and beyond classroom, in face-to-face activities as well as those in remote learning under pandemic. Multimedia in Foreign Language Learning
Computer technology and Internet are inevitable new media in education methodology. Still, the central role in teaching belongs to humans. The power of Internet lies in offering authentic materials, software, education plans, list of exams, literature, etc. to schools, universities, and institutions all over the world but under the same conditions. Next to its commercial importance, it is seen as pedagogical tool for either the independent research or teamwork. The paper brings out positive and negative effects of new technology and its implementation in foreign language learning. Besides for the lessons learning, the idea of information literacy maintains crucial position in education. The new technology demands investment of time, effort, money, and self-education, so that the principal question remains: Are we ready for new type of education in order to offer better teaching, more interesting lessons and more importantly, to prepare new generations for future challenges?

The article highlights the main advantages and disadvantages of the implementation of the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) during distance learning of Ukrainian as a foreign language (UFL) in a group of fourth-year foreign students at the National University «L’viv Polytechnic». The focus is on clarity and consistency in the presentation and use of textbooks and manuals on UFL, the use of tasks and exercises for different types of speech activities: listening, reading, writing, speaking. Possible programs for distance learning and methods of information transfer during virtual learning are described. The definition of distance learning in the VLE as one of the forms of realization of interdisciplinary connections and integration of knowledge in several subjects is clearly outlined. It is also a means of increasing the motivation to study the subject, as they create conditions for the practical application of knowledge; develop self-education skills, because most of the preparation for classes foreign students carry out independently and in extracurricular activities; online classes transfer skills to new areas that have not been studied before, which helps students make decisions about creative production situations. An unconventional type of lesson is considered, which is rather one of the forms of the project, which allows to integrate knowledge from different areas to solve one problem. The article presents important principles of understanding, mastering and accumulation of vocabulary on the basis of popular science and technical texts, which are the basis for the development of analytical skills, ingenuity and competence of foreign students. Various types of falls have been proposed for the study of the Ukrainian language in a foreign language environment. Examples of exercises for writing and reading are described with examples that help foreign students to learn the vocabulary of the Ukrainian language. There are also samples of tasks that were difficult to work with in a practical lesson in a group of fourth-year students at the National University «L’viv Polytechnic». The focus is on the problems of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language in technical universities. The article presents observations on the use of modern pedagogical technologies as a form of learning organization. The most common method to teach foreign languages is the use of course books. However, the 21st century serves other possibilities to use during learning, such as multimedia tools. The use of Internet, newspapers, the radio, or TV might be an alternative to typical language teaching methods. Multimedia can be defined as the exciting combination of computer hardware and software that allows you to integrate video, animation, audio, graphics, and test resources to develop effective presentations on an affordable desktop computer. The method of teaching a foreign language through Multimedia has been used wider and wider and it has contributed a lot to higher teaching quality. The issue analyzes the subject matter of modern tools represented by “blended learning” in the process of future foreign language teachers’ training in Ukraine. The authors analyze the benefits of the model “blended learning” implementation and the balance between virtual and face-to-face learning in the process of contemporary foreign language teacher’s training. Two approaches to the definition of the concept “blended learning” are distinguished in higher education. The first approach is based on the introduction of distance courses with active learning methods. The second approach considers the usage of up-to-date virtual technologies in education. The article reviews the social media as an Internet phenomenon, determines their place and level of popularity in the society, as a result of which the social networks are a resource with perspective pedagogical potential. The analysis of social media from the point of view of studying a foreign language and the possibility of their usage as a learning medium has been carried out. The most widespread and popular platforms have been considered and, based on their capabilities in teaching all types of speech activities, the "Instagram", "Twitter", and "Facebook" Internet resources have been selected as the subject of the research. The system of tasks of teaching all types of speech activities and showing the advantages of the "Instagram", "Twitter", and "Facebook" platforms has been proposed and briefly reviewed.
