The Faculty of Computer Science of the National University of La Plata is undertaking a Project of University Volunteering called "Reducing the digital breach in children and teenagers". Its goal is the informatic literacy of children of limited resources which go to communal kitchens of the city. In the Gran La Plata sector, one of the most important conglomerates of the Province of Buenos Aires, there are many communal kitchens which are focused on social integration and school support for children and teenagers, but almost none have the possibility of integrating with Computer Science. The goal of this article is to share the experience of this volunteering project, which is providing computing training for a group of 77 children between the ages of 5 and 12 from 3 communal kitchens in Barrio Tolosa and Aeropuerto in our city. We will explain the problems found when carrying out this project, as well as the results of partial evaluations done in the process. This is an undertaking of great social impact which attempts at alleviating the digital breach existent between those which can access information and communication technologies (ICTs) and those which cannot.
