This research study aims to analyze the Preparedness and Response to crises in School Education department at secondary level in Punjab, Pakistan. This was done through the experiences and views of District Education Officers (DEOs), Head of Schools and Secondary School Teachers (SST). The purpose of the study was not only to examine preparedness and response to crises but also to help education administration with specific reference to circumstances under which the process of crisis management at school level is going on, within the Pakistani Education system. For collection of data a detailed questionnaire for DEOs, Heads and Teachers was used in nine sampled districts out of 36 (25%) of the Punjab. An Analysis of Secondary Schools' Crisis Management Preparedness: National Implications

The purpose of this study is to analyze crisis management plans of schools that have experienced crisis situations in the past. The plans used by these schools to manage these crisis situations will be evaluated for their effectiveness or ineffectiveness in re-establishing stability to their organization. With such information, other schools may more effectively create plans, which enhance their own ability to effectively manage crisis situations. The elements proving most effective may be used to replicate effectiveness, and the elements of the plan that were least effective will be reconsidered to increase successful management of crisis situations in the future.
Crisis Management at Iranian Schools: A Review Study

Background: Occurring natural crises and lack of meticulous planning for confronting their damages and casualties can result in losing human and material resources. Moreover, it should be considered that crisis management is a kind of management in which prevention, intervention, and confrontation with the crisis are very important because these measures can decrease the detrimental impact of crises, especially at schools by saving students' lives. Therefore, regarding the importance of the subject, this study aimed to review studies on crisis management at Iranian schools. Materials and Methods: The study took place by a systematic search using Persian and English keywords on databases like Google Scholar, SID, and Magiran to find relevant research studies conducted in Iran until October 2018. Furthermore, the lists of references were checked to find more relevant studies. Out of 575 articles, the full texts of 12 studies were considered and the results of the searching were examined independently based on inclusion and exclusion criteria by two researchers after dismissing duplicates. Finally, 4 studies were qualified to be included in this review. Results: All studies used some questionnaires for assessing the outcomes. The target population consisted of students, teachers, principals, and experts of crisis management. Among the examined articles, two studies were about earthquake crisis management, and the other two discussed crisis management at schools. The level of preparedness for confrontation with the crisis, the effectiveness of crisis management course, dimensions and components of crisis management, and the priority of effective factors for readiness to confront crises were reported in the studies. Conclusion: Findings showed that students, teachers, and principals should receive necessary training about crisis management for preventing any probable injuries to children while confronting the crisis at schools. Consequently, it is suggested that the officials take crisis management at schools into serious consideration.

Looking at the definition of the crisis in detail, it is a situation that is not correct and requires radical decisions. They are situations that suddenly break down the normal functioning of a structure and suddenly emerge. It requires the care of the owner and the people who manage the situation. The crisis situation threatens not only the continuity but also the future of the institution in which it emerges. It can destroy the controversy that arises with other institutions and prevent it from becoming productive. It has a very effective potential for the development or differentiation of the institution (Vergiliel, 1996, p.3).

The present study aimed at identifying the status quo of crisis management implementation in Jordanian public secondary schools in Amman, according to Impact Effort Matrix, from the point of view of its school leaders. The study sample consisted of (250) principals and teachers in Jordanian public secondary schools in Amman. The questionnaire consisted of (3) dimensions and (78) statements. It was found that the status quo of crisis management implementation in Jordanian public secondary schools in Amman, according to Impact Effort Matrix, from the point of view of its school leaders was moderate. It was also found that there were significant differences in the means for the second and third dimensions that can be attributed to sex, they came in favour of males, and it was found that there were significant differences in the means for the first dimension that can be attributed to educational qualifications, they came in favour of higher education.whereas, no significant differences in the status quo of crisis management implementation in Jordanian public secondary schools in Amman, according to Impact Effort Matrix, from the point of view of its school leaders that can be attributed to experience and position were found. Based on the results, several recommendations were presented such as reviewing and revisiting the roles of principals, conducting studies related to crisis management and establishing a specialized department for crisis management in secondary schools.
Teacher views regarding school administrations’ organizational crisis management skills
In order to continue their existences and perform their duties in an efficient manner, modern organizations are required to effectively observe environmental changes and manage crises born during the process of adaptation to change. Like any other organization, it is natural for school organizations to face a series of crises in the process of adapting to environmental changes. Crisis management skills of school administrators are believed to be one of the most crucial variables in solving crises in a satisfactory manner. This study aims to identify the crisis management skills of school administrators according to teacher views. The study employed a relational screening model which is a descriptive research technique. “Crisis Management Skills in School Administration” scale developed by the researchers was used in the study as the data collection tool. Related literature was reviewed and ideas of field experts were obtained during the development of the scale which was finalized after reliability and validity analyses were undertaken and implemented to the working group of the study. Validity of the study was undertaken by utilizing the Lawshe technique and the scale was finalized with 5 dimensions. The scale is composed of 37 statements with a Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of 0,97. Ideas of 288 teachers employed in Şanlıurfa provincial center were sought in the framework of the study. Statistical analyses were undertaken in terms of seniority, work place, and level of education. Research findings show that school administrators have medium level crises management skills in school administration.
Development and Validation of School Crisis Prevention/ Preparedness and Management (SCPP) Scale

This research study was to develop a valid and reliable school crisis prevention/ preparedness and management scale in the context of managing educational crisis. A blended research approach was utilized to accomplish the goals' exploration. As a feature of the foundation to this examination, the instructive setting of Punjab Province is considered. The school crisis communication theory (SCCT), itself holding a solid reason in regards to its applications and qualities, which were steady in giving the method of reasoning for this investigation. Five point Likert scale was used for this purpose. The scale, would therefore explore the perceptions of 278 sampled primary school teachers of the Punjab responsible for the management of educational crisis against School Crisis Prevention/Preparedness and Management Scale (SCPP&M). As they were already seven major elements (Crisis Identification, Challenge, Communication, Reduction, Reconstruction, Sustainability and Evaluation). Each construct measured through Exploratory Factor Analysis. The results of the scale development comprised on four factors (Prevention, Preparedness, Response & Recovery). This study is based on the claim that it is one of the pioneer efforts in developing school crisis management strategy at all educational levels.

This research employed a mixed methods utilizing a convergent design, to examine the relationship between crisis management skills, leadership practices and school effectiveness as assessed by college teachers coming from private HEIs in Region XI. Quantitative data was collected through the utilization of adapted survey questionnaires, while qualitative data was obtained through in-depth interviews (IDI) and focus group discussions (FGD). Results showed that the level of crisis management skills leadership practices and school effectiveness are high. Furthermore, the study revealed that crisis management skills and leadership practices significantly influenced school effectiveness. In the qualitative phase of the study, six essential themes were formed based on the lived experiences of the participants as regards crisis management skills, leadership practices, and school effectiveness, and these were: concrete graduate output, calmness, responsiveness to the signs of time, fostering collaboration, the right attitude in solving crises, and support and monitoring. Whereas six themes were also generated for the role of experiences in shaping the beliefs and attitudes towards school's effectiveness: transformative belief, total trust, and support from the institution; fostering relevant attitudes; student success-driven attitudes; willful mindset; and continuance commitment. The results for corroborating the quantitative and qualitative data produced merging-converging results.
Crisis Management in Secondary School: The Roles of Stakeholders
It is very difficult to solve the educational crisis or problem with ease, particularly a dynamic society like Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State. Crisis incidents other forms of homicide cult case, sexual harassment, workplace violence or natural disasters which result or might result in death of staff, emergency service are trained to deal with such events on one level. But such service cannot have detailed knowledge of local context and needs and not having the resource to handle prevention and long term follow-up planning.
Challenges and Strategies in a Crisis: A Case Study of a Private Educational Institute in Karachi

The purpose of the study was to collect a comprehensive list of leadership challenges faced and strategies utilized during a campus crisis. The crises associated with educational institutions after various involvements by the university section heads and the strategies used in the light of Bolman and Deal’s multi frame to combat these issues were identified. Head of departments from a private educational institute were interviewed about their experiences regarding crisis management and what strategies they had implemented. The participants discussed how leadership shown at their respective level and how it contributed to the overall mission and vision of the institution. The study is focused on reframing the campus leaders on structural, human resources, political and symbolic leadership.
