The cause of the lack of mathematical problemsolving ability of students in grade VIII.1 SMPN 16 Solok Selatan was because the learning model was still concentrated on the teacher. One effort that can be done to overcome this problem was to apply the PBL model. The objective of the study was to describe the process of improving students' mathematical problem-solving skills through learning with PBL model. The type of research was classroom action research. The study consisted of two cycles consisting of five meetings for each. The last meeting of each cycle was filled with the final test. This research consisted of four components, namely: action plan; action implementation; observation; and evaluation of the action (reflecting). The research was conducted on the students of class VIII.1 SMPN 16 Solok Selatan in the even semester of the academic year 2013/2014. Research subject amounted to 20 students. The collected data were analyzed descriptively. The result of this research indicated that there was an increase in problem-solving skills of mathematics students using the PBL model. The increase was seen from the increase of the average value of the final test cycle that examined the problem-solving and the percentage of mastery of student learning outcomes. It can be concluded that the PBL model can improve the problem-solving ability of students of grade VIII.1 SMPN 16 Solok Selatan in the even semester of the academic year 2013/2014.

This research aimed to determine that improving the mathematical problem solving ability of students through the PBL model is better than traditional learning. This research is a quasi experimental research. Sampling method is using random sampling method that is from tenth grade at State Senior High School 7 of Medan selected two classes as sample which subjected to random treatment of one as control class that is X2 and the other as experimental class that is X5. Eksperimental class is using PBL model and control class is using traditional learning. Inferensial statistic analysis was performed by Independent Sample t-Test. The math subject is system of linear equations with two variables. Based on the research, it was found that the significance value for mathematical problem solving ability in the experimental and control classes is 0.00. Because 0.00 < 0.05 then H0 is rejected, So improving the mathematical problem solving ability through the PBL model is better than traditional learning. It was concluded that improving the mathematical problem solving ability through the PBL model is better than traditional learning.

Based on a preliminary study at SDN Karangsono 1 that students had difficulty to solve problem-solving questions or questions presented in the form of stories, especially geometric material. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability to solve mathematical problems with the PBL model with the RME approach better than the PBL learning model. This study used a quantitative design with an experimental class and a control class. Data collection techniques used are tests and non-tes. The data analysis technique in this research is prerequisite test and hypothesis test. The results of this study were that the average mathematical solving ability of students using the PBL model with the RME approach is better than using the PBL model alone. This can be proved from the experimental class, the average indicator 1 during the pretest is 70 and when the posttest becomes 77, in indicator 2 during the pretest the average is 60 and becomes 73 during the posttest, in indicator 3 during the pretest the average is 50 and becomes 80 during the posttest, on the other hand in indicator 4 during the pretest the average is 53 and becomes 73 during the posttest. Meanwhile, in the control class in indicator 1 the average pretest was 50 and it became 65 during the posttest, in indicator 2 the average during the pretest was 60 and it became 70 during the posttest, in indicator 3 the average was 50 and it became 60 when posttest, and on indicator 4 the average is 55 to 60 during the posttest. This shows that students' mathematical problem-solving skills in the experimental class are better than those in the control class.
The Ability of Student' Math Literation on Learning Model Problem-Based Learning (PBL)
International Journal of Multicultural and Multireligious Understanding, 2021
Indonesian students' mathematical literacy based on PISA and PIRLS assessments is still in the low category. Mathematical literacy covers how students are able to know and use basic mathematics to solve problems in real life contexts. Problem Based Learning Model is a learning model that can solve problems in real life contexts by facilitating the development of junior high school students' mathematical literacy. The main principle of Problem Based Learning emphasizes mathematical problems that are human activities and must be meaningful for students, become a motivator to improve mathematical literacy skills through the stages of learning. This article examines the mathematical literacy ability of SMP Negeri 11 Bengkulu students before and after going through the Problem Based Learning Model. students' mathematical literacy skills prior to the application of the Problem Based Learning model have a percentage of 25% for the medium category and 75% are in the low category. Then for students' mathematical literacy ability after applying the Problem Based Learning model has a percentage of 5,5% for the medium category, 89% is in the low category, and 5,5% is in the high category. The results of inferential statistical analysis (Paired Sample T-test) obtained a significance value <0.05. This means that there is an increase in students' mathematical literacy skills after the application of the Problem Based Learning model in class VII SMP Negeri 11 Bengkulu City.

This paper discusses the effect of the PBL (Problem-Based Learning) learning model on students' math arithmetical skills in integer material in class V of MIS Perdamean Sigambal, Rantauprapat, North Sumatra Province in the academic year 2020/2021. The research uses quantitative research (Quasi Experiment) with the research sample determined by total sampling technique. The population of the research was 30 students, which consists of 15 students in class V-A as the control class and 15 students in class V-B as the experimental class. The results indicate that students' arithmetic skills using the PBL learning model were in the very good category with an average score of 87.2. The hypothesis results that have been carried out indicate tcount 2.658 > ttable, 1.701 at a confidence level of 0.05. Thus, there is a significant effect of applying the PBL (Problem-Based Learning) learning model on students' arithmetical skills in class V of MIS Perdamean Sigambal Rantauprapat and it provides information to teachers in applying the PBL (Problem-Based Learning) learning model to improve students' thinking skills.

This research aims to analyze the difference effectiveness of learning model Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) and model learning problem based learning (PBL) to students' mathematical reasoning skills. The design of this research is quasi experiment with pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study is the students of grade VIII SMPN 1 Watubangga 2015/2016 year that studying about building a flat side space. The data of mathematical reasoning skills is obtained by using the instrument in the form of mathematical reasoning test. Data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis, F test with t test (paired-samples t test and independent-samples t test), at α = 0,05. Based on the result of analysis of research data obtained that: 1). Student's mathematical reasoning skills before being taught with RME, PBL, and Direct learning models are in the less category after being given learning with the learning model RME, PBL and Direct students' mathematical reasoning skills are in sufficient category. Increased students' mathematical reasoning skills are in the medium category; 2). There is an improvement in students' mathematical reasoning skills after being taught with RME, PBL and Direct learning models; 3). The mathematical reasoning skills of students taught using the RME learning model were not significantly different from those taught by the PBL learning model; 4). There is a difference in the effectiveness of the learning model on improving students' mathematical reasoning skills, which is taught using a learning model RME more effective than students taught by direct learning model; 5). The students' mathematical reasoning skills are taught using the PBL learning model more effective than students taught by direct learning model; 6). Student activity during learning process using RME learning model and PBL learning models, indicating that students are very active.

The Application Of Problem-Based Learning Model To Improve Students' Mathematical Reasoning Skills
International Journal of Scientific & Technology Research, 2020
This study aimed to improve students' mathematical reasoning skills through the Problem-Based Learning model (PBL). This study employed classroom action research consisting of two cycles, and each cycle involved planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 29 Year 8 students in one of the Islamic private junior high school in Aceh Besar. The research instrument used for data collection was a mathematical reasoning test. The data was then analyzed qualitatively and described descriptively. The results showed that out of 29 students, 57.89% and 73.68% reached classical mastery learning of mathematical reasoning skills in the first cycle and the second cycle, respectively. Therefore, students’ mathematical reasoning skills increased through the Problem-Based Learning model.
