This paper empirically investigated application of quality assurance in business studies subject in secondary schools in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State. In carrying out investigation on this work, two research questions and two hypotheses were phrased to guide the study that covers selected public secondary schools in Ilorin South LGA, Kwara State. A 12-item questionnaire was constructed, validated and administered on a purposive random sample of 100 subject. The instrument was administered over a period of one week because of dispersed nature of schools sampled with the help of field assistants. The data collected were analyzed with the help of mean and standard deviation for research questions and t-test statistic for the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. Surprisingly, the two hypotheses were accepted in favour of their alternatives. Based on the findings, it was recommended among others that: (1) Business studies should be well funded to promote quanlitative education to the recipients and (2) Business studies teachers should always be mandated to attend training and development programmes organized by the schools, ABEN and other related organizations with financial supports from school management.
This study aims to assess the factors influencing quality assurance of Business Education programme in Nigerian public Education Colleges of Ogun State. Thus, the study was guided by three research questions and three null hypotheses. Consisting of 245 Business Education students' sampling, the study adopts descriptive survey design. Adapted from Babayemi (2019), Azasu, et. al. (2015) and Salami (2019), this study developed a structured questionnaire, Factors Influencing Quality Assurance of Business Education Programme Questionnaire (FIQABEDQ) as its structured questionanaire. The questionnaire was validated by three experts and applied to the study. Split-half method was utilised to establish reliability coefficient, at 0.83 using Cronbach Alpha. The data generated for the study were analysed using mean and standard deviation. All null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance using inferential statistic of ANOVA. The findings showed, among others, that Business Education curriculum moderately influenced the achievement of Business Education Programme's objective. In addition, this study suggests that Business Education curriculum should be revisited and tailored towards equipping for self-employment, among others. Therefore, cooperation and collaboration among Business Education's stakeholders are needed in an attempt to achieve the stated objectives in Business Education by providing ample and proper modern facilities in their tertiary institutions.

This study was conducted using survey design to determine business educators' rating of strategies considered to be effective for quality assurance in business education programme in south-south Nigerian universities. Sixty-eight business educators drawn from the universities in south-south Nigeria that offer business education constituted the population and sample for the study. The study was guided by three research questions and three null hypotheses. The study utilized a validated four point scale questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.84 using Crombach Alpha analysis. Mean and standard deviation were used to analyze the data collected in order to answer the research questions while the null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance using z-test statistic. Towards Quality Assurance in Business Education in Nigeria: Constraints and Control

This study x-rays the concept of quality assurance in business education programs in Nigeria with particular reference to its constraints and control measures. The importance of quality business education in nation building cannot be overemphasized. The whole essence of quality assurance in business education is to enhance and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the system towards achieving the set standards. However, in recent times, evidences abound that the education system in Nigeria (business education inclusive) is performing below expectations. Although, quality assurance of business education program in Nigeria may have been jeopardized by several factors such as poor evaluation program, inadequate funding, poor supervision, attitudinal failure among others but the situation can be reversed and revamped for quality to be guaranteed. Hence, there has been a concerted effort targeted at ameliorating this deplorable situation. It was based on this therefore, that this study suggested some control measures that could help to enhance the quality of business education in Nigeria. Consequently, the paper drew a conclusion for the subject matter and it was recommended among others that there should be a positive attitudinal change, internal integrity and commitment by all stakeholders to the whole issues of education for quality to be assured in business education in Nigeria.
Quality Assurance of Business Education Programme in Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria

Purpose: This paper discussed the concept of business education programme and the need for quality assurance in tertiary institutions. It examined the important roles of NUC, NCCE and TRCN in assuring quality in business education programme in Nigeria. Design/methodology/approach: This paper focused on the underlined heading as follows: objectives of business education, needs for business education ,quality assurance measuring parameters, constraints of quality assurance in business education such as; inadequate funding; staff recruitment; inadequate teaching and learning materials , control measures of quality assurance in business education, current efforts of ensuring quality in business education in Nigeria were discussed. Findings: On this note, it was recommended that Business Education curriculum should be revisited and tailored towards equipping for self-employment, among others. Therefore, cooperation and collaboration among Business Education's stakeholders are needed in an attempt to achieve the stated objectives in Business Education by providing ample and proper modern facilities in tertiary institutions. Also, accreditation teams should be selected based on their integrity and not who you know, by this institutions will comply to put in place all the needful in order to be accredited.

This study investigated the strategies for enhancing quality assurance in business teacher education programme in Nigerian universities. Two research questions and four hypotheses guided the study. This study adopted a descriptive survey design. The population of the study comprised 129 Business Education lecturers in state and federal universities in the south south Nigeria. There was no sampling since the population was manageable. The instrument for data collection was a 35-item questionnaire. The content and face validity of the instrument was adequately handled. It has reliability coefficient of 0.94 using cronbach alpha. The mean scores was used to answer the research questions. The findings identified quality research and publications, quality curriculum, quality text books, discipline of teachers, quality infrastructure, quality teaching facilities among others, as some of the strategies for enhancing quality assurance in Business Teacher Education in Nigerian universities. It was, therefore, recommended that adequate qualified teachers should be employed by the school authorities and Business Education curriculum should be widened to accommodate relevant areas in marketing, accounting, office technology and management.

This study was designed to assess quality assurance inputs for the teaching Business Teacher Education in selected Colleges of Education in South-South, Nigeria. Three research questions were raised to guide the study. The population comprised 91 Business Educators from four selected Colleges of Education in South-South, Nigeria. No sample was used since the population was manageable. A checklist containing 22 inputs recommended as minimum standards for NCCE Business Teacher Education was used to collect information on the availability and adequacy while a 22-item questionnaire was used to gather data on the suitability of available inputs. The obtained data was analysed using mean and standard deviation for research questions. The purpose of this paper is to develop a model which could be used to gain an insight into the quality of Business Education. Relevant literature was reviewed to determine inclusion of a particular variable into either input component variable or process component variable. Based on the model, questionnaire was developed to obtain information on the students as well as lecturers effectives as input factors and assessment opinion of the students on each of the process components factors quality. The output used was the students' results during their 100 level. The findings from this study revealed that the value being added to the students' academic growth was little as basic aptitude and attitude of the students were very poor. The poor quality of the process component factors could not even make the story different. Based on this finding, suggestions on quality improvement measures were made to the management. Thus the paper offered a new insight into how quality in education can be measured at any level.
This study aimed at assessing the extent of availability of ICT resources for quality assurance of Business Education in South-West Nigeria. One research question and three null hypotheses were drawn to guide the study. Related literatures were reviewed after the conceptual framework based on the major variables of the study. A Descriptive research design was adopted to conduct the study. The population of the study comprises 550 (52 lecturers and 498 final year students) of Business Education from universities that offer Business Education in South-West Nigeria. A sample size of three hundred and one (301) 52 lecturers and 249 students was used for the study; using stratified random sampling techniques. A modified questionnaire was used for data collection. The reliability of the instrument was established through the use of Cronbach‘s Alpha Reliability Coefficient and reliability coefficients of 0.87. Arithmetic mean and standard Deviation were used to analyze data and answer research questions. While z-test was used to test hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of this study revealed that ICT resources are available at a low extent for quality assurance of business education in universities in South-West Nigeria. This study recommends, among others, that the Government and managements of programme should join hands together and ensure that ICT resources are available to enhance qualitative teaching and learning of 21st century that afford the students job opportunities in the global labour market.
