Kritik Sosial dalam Stand Up Comedy (Analisis Semiotika Show “Pragiwaksono World Tour”)

This study discusses the stand up comedy that is popular among the people. Stand up comedy itself is a singular comedic art whose contents from ordinary jokes contain social criticism. Pandji Pragiwaksono is one example of a comic where he likes to bring stand up comedy material containing social criticism where there are some social problems that we are experiencing in the form of comedy. The theory used by researchers is the theory of mass communication, mass media, social criticism, stand up comedy. This study uses a qualitative approach with the semiotic analysis technique method Ferdinand De Saussure which divides the selected sign into two namely signifier and signified. Stand Up Comedy merupakan sebuah genre di dalam komedi, dimana seseorang melakukan monolog dengan tujuan utama membuat tawa, namun tidak bisa dipungkiri bahwa Stand Up Comedy juga digunakan untuk tujuan lainnya, seperti industri, demokrasi, dan menyampaikan kritik sosial. Komika yang Stand Up Comedy-nya tentang kritik sosial terhadap Indonesia Timur adalah Mamat Alkatiri. Penelitian ini merupakan analisis wacana pada Stand Up Comedy yang bertujuan untuk mengungkap bagaimana wacana kritik sosial yang digunakan oleh Mamat Alkatiri, menggunakan Analisis Wacana model Van Dijk. Subjek yang diteliti merupakan 3 video Stand Up Comedy Mamat Alkatiri yang ada pada youtube, diantaranya (1) Mamat: Si Anak Papua-SUCI 7 yang diunggah oleh channel Stand Up Kompas TV, (2) Stand up Comedy-Mamat Alkatiri: Ditolak Ngekos | Shopee Canda yang diunggah oleh Channel SHOPEE Indonesia, (3) Mamat: Manusia Sangar-SUCI 7 yang diunggah oleh Channel Stand Up Kompas TV. Hasil analisis menunjukan dua tema kritik sosial yaitu penyalahgunaan kekuasaan dan diskriminasi ras. Stand up comedy Mamat Alkatiri juga memberikan pemaknaan bahwa: 1) Jangan menilai individu hanya dari wajah, 2) Tidak semua individu dari Papua seperti yang pikirkan masyarakat, 3) Menawarkan anak Papua untuk merealisasikan mimpi dengan karya.

This study aims to demystify the stereotypes of Eastern Indonesian citizens. Specifically, the problem of this study is formulated as: (1) What rhetorical strategy and text structure are used in developing themes?, (2) What social cognition can be identified through audience response to the stereotypes of Eastern Indonesian citizens? (3) What social context can be built in response to the stereotype of Eastern Indonesian citizens? Theres many ways can be done to appreciate the voices of messages and criticisms through creative ways, one of them through comics. One of the Indonesian comic artists who used comics as a medium of social criticism was Haryadhi through his "Komik Strip Untuk Umum (KOSTUM)” creation. KOSTUM Comics record the events that are happening and pour them into comic strips spread through social media. This research is a qualitative descriptive type using Roland Barthes' semiotics theory with two-stage significance (two orders of signification). From the results of the study, researchers found the implicit meaning that is to criticize and satirize the behavior of Indonesian people in a subtle way. Criticism expressed to comics is directed directly at the actors but is delicately wrapped with humorous portrayals through their characters. Kritik Sosial Dalam Naskah Drama Jangan Menangis Indonesia Karya Putu Wijaya

Penelitian ini berjudul "Kritik Sosial Dalam Naskah Drama Jangan Menangis Indonesia Karya Putu Wijaya". Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi untuk (1) memperoleh gambaran mengenai struktur drama Jangan Mennagis Indonesia, dan (2) mengetahui kritik sosial yang ada dalam naskah drama Jangan Menangis Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif analisis atau metode kualitatif, yaitu mendeskripsikan data-data yang terkumpul untuk kemudian disusun dengan menganalisis naskah drama Jangan Menangis Indonesia karya Putu Wijaya secara struktural semiotik agar terlihat unsur-unsur sosiologisnya.Berdasarkan hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam analisis struktur yang ada di dalam naskah drama Jangan Menangis Indonesia ditemukan 11 buah aktan yang terdiri dari 7 aktan pokok dan 4 aktan pendukung. Dari hasil analisis terdapat alur, tokoh, dan latar diperoleh gambaran mengenai tema dan amanat. Tema yang diangkat adalah mengenai keadaan negara Indonesia dipenghujung era presiden Soeharto lengser dan memasuki era reformasi (Presiden BJ Habibi-Abdurahman Wahid-Megawati Soekarno Putri) menuju era demokrasi (Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono). Sedangkan dalam menganalisis kritik sosial penulis memperoleh tiga aspek pokok sebagai bentuk kritik sosial dalam naskah drama ini di antaranya, pertama, segala bentuk permasalahan yang terjadi di Indonesia berupa krisis Keadilan, keamanan, dan tanggung jawab pada masyarakat Indonesia, kedua, permasalahan yang terjadi pada pemerintahan di era reformasi menuju era demokrasi, dan ketiga, budaya korupsi dikalangan pejabat negara. ketiganya menjadi fokus penulis untuk menemukan kritik sosial dalam penelitian ini. Kata Kunci: Drama; Struktur drama, Sosiologi sastra, dan Kritik sosial. PENDAHULUAN Sebagai salah satu bagian dari genre sastra, drama memiliki keunikan tersendiri bila dibandingkan dengan genre sastra lainnya yakni puisi dan prosa.Jika puisi maupun prosa (cerpen, novel, novolet, dan sebagainya) hanya ditulis oleh pengarang untuk dibaca tanpa harus dipertunjukan atau dipentaskan di atas panggung pertunjukan sebagaimana dalam drama maupun teater (meski tidak menutup kemungkinan ada karya-karya dari para penyair maupun prosais yang dipertunjukan di atas panggung maupun difilmkan). Skemata Wacana Humor Stand Up Comedy Indonesia

This qualitative research design was conducted to describe the schema, cohesion, coherence, and context contained in the stand-up comedy performed by famous comics (performer of stand up comedy) in Indonesia. The data were in the form the text of stand up comedy performed by Raditya Dika, Ernest Prakarsa, and Pandji Pragiwaksono. The source of the data was video-audio stand up comedy on Youtube http://www.youtube.com. The data gathered and analyzed grounded in theory of schematic, cohesion, coherence, and humorous discourse. The results show that the schemata appear in the setup section and each schema appears based on the experience of comics. The schema appears variously including dating, children, family, education, personal experience, social and so forth. The cohesion found in the stand-up comedy performed by the comics is only a few and without coherence in it. The context rising also depends on the main theme of stand up comedy.

Representasi Indonesia dalam Stand Up Comedy (Analisis Wacana Kritis Norman Fairclough dalam Pertunjukan Spesial Pandji Pragiwaksono “Mesakke Bangsaku”)

The purpose of this research exposes the representation of Indonesia through a good comic material delivered by Pandji Pragiwaksono in a special performance "Mesakke Bangsaku". This research uses descriptive method using a literature review and observations in order to enrich the data. Data analysis techniques used for this research is a critical discourse analysis of Norman Fairclough, which includes Text, Discourse Practice, Sociocultural Practice. The results showed the existence of the findings regarding the representation of Indonesia which is described through the stand up comedy Special in the show " Mesakke Bangsaku", Pandji Pragiwaksono. First, regarding representation of society Indonesia that are valued can do attitude of tolerance towards religious people. Second, Indonesia is still very much need to learn from the educational system in the developed world, and the third is about a political understanding that is still very weak.

Kesantunan Kritik Sosial dalam Rubrik Parodi di Surat Kabar Kompas

This research aims at explaining content and targets of social critics and elaborating politeness manifestation in social critics that was written by Samuel Mulia in Parody Column. The research hypothesis is the fact that Samuel Mulia has a typical style in delivering social critics to society. The social critics delivered by him have met the principles of politeness. This research is conducted by using critical discourse analysis method. The object of the research is social issues contained in the Parody Column. There are two approaches used to analyze the data. First, critical discourse analysis approach by Fairclough and Teun A. van Dijk. Second, pragmatic approach, which is politeness principles by Geoffrey N. Leech (1983). The result of hypothesis testing is obtained by some conclusions as follows: 1) Samuel Mulia as the writer is trying to discuss social issues, such as environmental concerns, classification of classes in society that causes power domination in society. 2) Social criticism delivered with a way to make himself as the object and also subject of the composition. 3) The target of his compositions is explicitly aimed to himself. However, the writer also strays to the society who read his Parody column, especially to them who have positions, wealth, and powers. 4) Samuel Mulia gives the example of social critics that do not offend other parties, so they don't hurt the feelings because of being cornered and judged. Samuel uses ways to criticize other people by using analogy 5) These critics are not enough only by using analogy or metaphor. Every sentence chosen and used to criticize must fulfill wisdom maxims, generosity, appreciation, simplicity and sympathy. 6) Samuel could be said as a polite criticizer. Although, Samuel Mulia, himself, and others admit that he has a critical and sharp voice, Samuel is able to show that he could control himself.

This research will describe the form and meaning of expressive speech acts in Sadana Agung's Stand Up Comedy video and use a descriptive qualitative research design. The object of this research is the Sadana Agung Stand Up Comedy video. The data collection in this study uses the method of focusing on the use of expressive speech acts in Sadana Agung's Stand Up Comedy video. Furthermore, the data collection is obtained by note taking technique to translate spoken language into written language. In the data analysis technique, the steps are in the form of data selection, data code conversation, data classification, data completeness, and data description. The results of this study are in the form of data on the form and meaning of actions. This research will describe the shape and meaning of expressive speech acts in Sadana Agung's Stand Up Comedy video and use descriptive qualitative research designs. The object of this research is the Sadana Agung Stand Up Comedy video. The data collection in this study uses the method of focusing on the use of expressive speech acts in Sadana Agung's Stand Up Comedy video. Furthermore, the data collection is obtained by note taking technique to translate spoken language into written language. In the data analysis technique, the steps are in the form of data selection, data code conversation, data classification, data completeness, and data description. The results of this study are in the form of data on the form and meaning of expressive speech in Sadana Agung's Stand Up Comedy video includes, praising, feeling annoyed, mocking, feeling worried, insinuating, apologizing, feeling confused. Although expressive speech acts are found that have negative connotations such as ridicule and insinuation, but the meaning contained therein does not necessarily mean negative because the speech acts are delivered with the purpose of entertaining.
