One of the former lecturers of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Department of Music Education, Prof. Muzaffer Arkan has presented works in many different fields. In addition to being a music educator, Arkan, who is a good choir conductor, has also benefited the academic community with his articles. Born in 1923, Arkan has served our national musical development in every period of his life and passed away in 2006. Muzaffer Arkan, who worked in provinces such as Ankara and Niğde, also has articles written for the musical development of his hometown Konya. Musicologist Mahmut Ragıp Gazimihal Bey, Arkan's teacher, has more than three thousand articles. Gazimihâl carried out important works for the music movement in our country. Gazimihal, who worked as a teacher in Konya for a short time, wrote a book and many articles about Konya. During his compilation studies in Konya, he determined the musical life of Konya on the spot. He conveyed these experiences in his articles published in 1943, 1947 and 1948. Gazimihal, who worked as a teacher in Konya for a short time, wrote a book and many articles about Konya. Within the scope of this study, Muzaffer Arkan introduced Mahmut Ragıp Gazimihal, who was his teacher, and his three articles in Ekekon newspaper in 1947 in which he conveyed his ideas were introduced to the scientific community. In his articles, Arkan demonstrated Gazimihal's role as a music educator, the duties he took, his efforts in the development of opera art, and his determinations regarding the musical life of the period. With the study, the findings of Arkan’s presented in the articles were exhibited. In a local newspaper of Konya named Ekekon, the music culture effort that was tried to be brought to the people of the period was exhibited. By introducing a pioneer name like Gazimihal to his countrymen and transferring his ideas, an effort to internalize classical western music in the social memory has been demonstrated
