A Critical Examination of Service Loyalty Measures
Service loyalty is attracting growing interest as a result of the important role that services play in today’s global economy. Advances in technology have increased demand for a services-based economy and prompted a shift from a product-centred logic to a service-centred logic. Despite general agreement between researchers and practitioners of the strategic importance of service loyalty, and growing acceptance of a dynamic or processual perspective, scales used to measure the dynamic view of service loyalty can be criticised for their lack of methodological robustness. This paper contributes both theoretically and practically by critically examining these service loyalty scales and proposing a new multi-item scale based on Oliver’s (1997) conceptualisation using a mixed method study. Qualitative and quantitative data were collected from UK retail bank customers using in-depth interviews and an interviewer-administered survey. A two-step structural equation modelling strategy was used to validate the measurement and structural models. The results provide support for a four-dimensional scale of service loyalty. This study provides service researchers and managers with a better understanding of service loyalty and presents them with a robust scale for its measurement, in turn improving their ability to make accurate conclusions. Keywords: Service loyalty structure, scale development, UK financial services, model mis-specification, non-recursive models.
Service Customer Loyalty: An Evaluation Based on Loyalty Factors
Sustainability
This study sheds light on customer loyalty based on three groups of factors (customer, service provider, and environment). Noting the diversity of the effects of customer loyalty factors, this research investigates the impact of every factor upon customer loyalty. This paper provides an innovative insight into how a variety of customer loyalty factors might be combined into a single measure of customer loyalty. Finally, this study examines phases of customer loyalty and identifies the factors that prevent a peak of customer loyalty. The factors determining customer loyalty explain why customers move across different loyalty phases over time. The results of the empirical testing confirmed the practical applicability of the suggested approach for evaluating customer loyalty based on these factors. An innovative approach to the evaluation of customer loyalty is essential for marketers because it will help them to evaluate loyalty in cases where data about customer behavior are not coll...

Exhibiting their level of loyalty, no significant difference between male and female subscribers ...
Service Quality as Determinant of Customer Loyalty
International Journal of Business and Innovation, 2014
Retaining customers and creating loyal customers is vital for business continuity as a means of sustenance in the competitive telecommunication market. Employees that execute distinctive service encounters are responsible for creating valuable customer experience in the service industry, a sign of differentiation over its rivals. This study uses the SERVQUAL model to measure the level of performance delivered by Telekom Malaysia (TM) employees in influencing customer loyalty towards TM products and services. Evidence from the findings revealed that reliability and empathy are significantly positive in influencing customer loyalty.
A Reliability Test Used for the Development of a Loyalty Scale
Network Intelligence Studies, 2017
The development of a loyalty model involves the construction of a proper research instrument. For the loyalty model of the clients for financial services, the pre-testing of the research questionnaire represents a significant stage. This article presents the methodology used in this stage for testing the reliability of a loyalty scale. Firstly, this implies choosing the appropriate scales for each variable included in the suggested research model. Secondly, the internal consistency for each of these scales is measured as an indicator of their reliability. The reliability analysis described represents an essential stage in building a measurement instrument for a loyalty model.
The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationships among service quality, satisfaction, trust, and store loyalty in a retailing context. All these variables have considerable importance on store performance, measured by financial indicators or market ones. The data were collected from a sample of 258 students at two universities in Albania, during the first quarter of 2012. The items included in the survey measured the variables of the study as well as demographic characteristics of the sample. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM) were used to evaluate the hypotheses regarding relationships among model constructs. All the hypotheses developed in the study were positively confirmed, reinforcing the theory and previous research on this field. The study also reveals interesting implications in service quality, satisfaction, trust, and store loyalty, useful to both academics and practitioners. Managers will find this research helpful in better understanding these variables and their roles on their companies' performance.
A STUDY ONTHE IMPACT OF SERVICE QUALITY TOWARDSCUSTOMER LOYALTY
Service quality is a very important dimension for a marketer. The success or failure of a business to a large extent depends on the quality of service offered by the marketer. Customers not only judge the brand by its products but also through its quality of services. No amount of advertisements and sales promotions can have a deeper impact on customer loyalty as the quality of services offered. The relationship between the retailer and the consumer has become more complex in today's service-oriented economy. Customer dissatisfaction is undoubtedly the major source of customer complaints and it occurs when the customer's experience with a retailer's product or service fails to live up to expectations which if not handled properly leads to customer not being loyal and in turn affects the profit margins. The liaison between service quality and customer satisfaction has a long-lasting effect on the purchasing behaviour of the consumer. The present study is to understandthe dimensions of service quality followed by the apparel retail stores in Bangalore and to find out if it has an impact on customer loyalty.
Linking perceived service quality and service loyalty: a multi-dimensional perspective
In recent research on service quality it has been argued that the relationship between perceived service quality and service loyalty is an issue which requires conceptual and empirical elaboration through replication and extension of current knowledge. Focuses on the refinement of a scale for measuring service loyalty dimensions and the relationships between dimensions of service quality and these service loyalty dimensions. The results of an empirical study of a large sample of customers from four different service industries suggest that four dimensions of service loyalty can be identified: purchase intentions, word-of-mouth communication; price sensitivity; and complaining behaviour. Further analysis yields an intricate pattern of service quality-service loyalty relationships at the level of the individual dimensions with notable differences across industries.
