Abstract
Design and investigation of the complementary split-ring resonator slotted patch antenna for multiple frequencies and compactness are presented here. The antenna was imprinted on a single layer FR-4 substrate with a facet of 50 x 50 mm2. The antenna built comprises of a novel structure of a complementary-split-ring-resonator slotted patch with DGS, looking like a ship-anchor. To increase the antenna performance, the idea of CSRR metamaterial inspired slotted patch along with a customized inverted E-shaped flaw over initial layer is implemented using Ansoft HFSS version 13. Lucid conformity between the computer-generated and observed outcomes was obtained. The laid out antenna covers a bandwidth of 3.3 - 7.9 GHz range with a good omnidirectional radiation pattern and gain of 7.49 dB. This antenna is designed with micro strip-fed for multiband applications such as Wi-Max, WLAN and mobile satellite communications.
