Abstract

In this study, a general over view of fishery products in Goksun district of Kahramanmaras was made and then the current situation of fishery sector of Goksun and its potential were discussed. Kahramanmaras, also known as the city of waters, is ranked third in the world and ranked first in Turkey in terms of water resources. Although the Goksun district is not located on these a coast, the fishes grown in the in land water sare exported to 15 countries. A total of four licensed enter prises in the aquaculture were determined in the district. All of these have been reached and data has been collected toreveal the current situation and problems of these enter prises. Total production capacities of these enter prise sare determined as 106 tons/year. It has been determined that poolsare not used efficiently and there are structural and managerial deficiencies of these enter prises where also stock density is low.
