The First Annual International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Networking and Services, 2004. MOBIQUITOUS 2004., 2004

We are very pleased to welcome you to MobiQuitous 2004, the First Annual International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Networking and Services. As worldwide interest in pervasive and ubiquitous computing intensifies, MobiQuitous will bring you informative tutorials, stimulating discussions, presentation of innovative technical contributions, panels and workshop on cutting-edge topics. The conference technical program greatly benefited from the cooperation of researchers belonging to two different communities: the mobile computing community and the services/knowledge management community. The two are inextricably linked. Advances in underlying networking and systems technology enable and open up new kinds of mobile and pervasive applications and services. Similarly, new emergent ideas and capabilities for advanced services produce both requirements and motivation to drive mobile technology. Consequently, a key objective of the technical program committee (TPC) was to bring together these two communities, providing a forum where researchers, both industrial and academic, could discuss them in a context focused on the overall system.

2012 The 11th Annual Mediterranean Ad Hoc Networking Workshop (Med-Hoc-Net), 2012

aims to serve as a platform for researchers and visionaries from the academia, the research laboratories, and the industry to present their latest work. We are pleased that many researchers will be challenged by this workshop, which focuses on communication networking research, especially on new issues in Wireless Ad-Hoc Networks.

at addressing recent research results and forecasting challenges on selected topics related to communications, computation, networks and technologies. Considering the importance of innovative topics in today's technology-driven society, there is a paradigm shift in classical-by-now approaches, such as networking, communications, resource sharing, collaboration and telecommunications. Recent achievements demand rethinking available technologies and considering the emerging ones. The conference had the following tracks:  Networking  Telecommunications We take here the opportunity to warmly thank all the members of the INNOV 2014 technical program committee, as well as the numerous reviewers. The creation of such a high quality conference program would not have been possible without their involvement. We also kindly thank all the authors that dedicated much of their time and effort to contribute to INNOV 2014. We truly believe that, thanks to all these efforts, the final conferen...

Global Community Technology Challenge (GCTC) Strategic Plan 2024-2026

2023

This publication provides a Strategic Plan for the Smart City Infrastructure (SCI) program of the Communications Technology Laboratory at the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), the research laboratory of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The SCI program manages the Global Community Technology Challenge (GCTC), a nationwide public-private partnership of cities and communities; local and state government agencies; and private-sector for-profit and non-profit entities. The GCTC is dedicated to improving the urban, suburban, and rural ecosystems and residents' overall quality of life through the integration of advanced cyber-physical systems and Internet of Things (IoT)-based technologies. NIST serves as coordinator for this partnership in collaboration with other federal agencies and offices that sponsor smart city-related projects and research activities. The convention "smart city," is used generically throughout this document to represent any city, township, or community that develops, invests in, and integrates digital technologies to improve city services for the benefit of the community and its residents. This strategy is based on a consensus planning process chartered by the NIST SCI program in collaboration with the leadership of twelve GCTC technology sectors (i.e., working groups), who collectively represent over 220 regions, cities and communities that have initiated smart city programs or projects as GCTC member communities. This document aligns with the current Administration, Department of Commerce, and NIST strategic documents, and covers a planning period of three years, from 2024-2026.

2011 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communications Systems (ISPACS), 2011

Dear participants and colleagues, it is our pleasure to welcome you to SoftCOM 2017 conference. We are excited to have an opportunity to take part in the organization of an international conference that gathers researchers and professionals from academia and industry to share experiences and new ideas in such a dynamic area as Information and Communication Technology. Current and emerging information and communication technologies are key drivers of the information society and economy. We are together building a society where every person and every industry is empowered to reach their full potential. With both evolving and new services we are enabling people to collaborate, innovate, learn, participate in ways we never thought possible. Through joint research and technology advancement we are opening ground for new discoveries. We can together deliver growth and prosperity based on greater social cohesion and environmental sustainability, holding the potential to truly shape the future and leave a positive legacy for generations to come.
