Generalized Thermoelastic Heat Conduction Model Involving Three Different Fractional Operators
Advances in Materials Science
The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new time-fractional heat conduction model with three-phase-lags and three distinct fractional-order derivatives. We investigate the introduced model in the situation of an isotropic and homogeneous solid sphere. The exterior of the sphere is exposed to a thermal shock and a decaying heat generation rate. We recuperate some earlier thermoelasticity models as particular cases from the proposed model. Moreover, the effects of different fractional thermoelastic models and the effect of instant time on the physical variables of the medium are studied. We obtain the numerical solutions for the various physical fields using a numerical Laplace inversion technique. We represent the obtained results graphically and discuss them. Physical views presented in this article may be useful for the design of new materials, bio-heat transfer mechanisms between tissues and other scientific domains.

In this research, two alternative approaches to fractional derivatives, namely Caputo-Fabrizio (CF) and Atangana-Baleanu (AB) fractional operators, are used to propose a generalized model of thermoelastic heat transfer of a rigid cylinder with thermal characteristics. The proposed model can be constructed by combining the DPL model with phase delays and the two temperature theories. It will be taken into account that the solid cylinder has variable physical properties. It was also assumed that the surface of the cylinder is penetrated by a continuous magnetic field and is regularly exposed to thermal loading from a continuous heat source. The numerical solutions of the studied physical fields in the AB and CF fractional derivative cases were derived using the Laplace transform method and are compared visually and tabularly and discussed in detail.
Fractional-Order Theory of Thermoelasticicty. I: Generalization of the Fourier Equation
The paper deals with the generalization of Fourier-type relations in the context of fractional-order calculus. The instantaneous temperature-flux equation of the Fourier-type diffusion is generalized, introducing a self-similar, fractal-type mass clustering at the micro scale. In this setting, the resulting conduction equation at the macro scale yields a Caputo's fractional derivative with order β ∈ ½0; 1 of temperature gradient that generalizes the Fourier conduction equation. The order of the fractional-derivative has been related to the fractal assembly of the microstructure and some preliminary observations about the thermodynamical restrictions of the coefficients and the state functions related to the fractional-order Fourier equation have been introduced. The distribution and temperature increase in simple rigid conductors have also been reported to investigate the influence of the derivation order in the temperature field.

In this work, we consider the one-dimensional problem for an infinitely long solid cylinder in the context of the theory of generalized thermoelasticity with one relaxation time. The heat conduction equation with the Caputo fractional derivative of order α is used. The curved surface of the cylinder is assumed to be in contact with a rigid surface and is subjected to constant heat flux. By means of the Laplace transform and numerical Laplace inversion the problem is solved. Numerical computations for the temperature, displacement and stress distributions are carried out and displayed graphically as well as the results are discussed comprehensively.
Fractional Order Two-Temperature Dual-Phase-Lag Thermoelasticity with Variable Thermal Conductivity
International Scholarly Research Notices, 2014
A new theory of two-temperature generalized thermoelasticity is constructed in the context of a new consideration of dual-phase-lag heat conduction with fractional orders. The theory is then adopted to study thermoelastic interaction in an isotropic homogenous semi-infinite generalized thermoelastic solids with variable thermal conductivity whose boundary is subjected to thermal and mechanical loading. The basic equations of the problem have been written in the form of a vector-matrix differential equation in the Laplace transform domain, which is then solved by using a state space approach. The inversion of Laplace transforms is computed numerically using the method of Fourier series expansion technique. The numerical estimates of the quantities of physical interest are obtained and depicted graphically. Some comparisons of the thermophysical quantities are shown in figures to study the effects of the variable thermal conductivity, temperature discrepancy, and the fractional order ...
Fractional order generalized thermoelastic half-space subjected to ramp-type heating
Mechanics Research Communications, 2010
In this work, we will construct a mathematical model of an elastic material with constant parameters fills the half-space and the governing equations will be taken into the context of the fractional order generalized thermoelasticity theory (Youssef, 2010). The medium is assumed initially quiescent and Laplace transforms and state-space techniques will be used to obtain the general solution for any set of boundary conditions. The general solution obtained is applied to a specific problem of a medium subjected to ramp-type heating and traction free. The inverse of the Laplace transforms are computed numerically using a method based on Fourier expansion techniques. Some comparisons have been shown in figures to estimate the effects of the fractional order parameter on all the studied felids.

The present work investigates the thermoelastic behaviour of an elastic material occupying the half space subjected to shock wave in the context of the fractional order generalized thermoelasticity associated with two relaxation times. The Laplace transform together with the Laplace transform of Caputo fractional integral has been applied to solve the closed form of the obtained solutions in the Laplace transform domain. The inversion of the dimensionless physical quantities are obtained numericaly using a complex inversion formula of Laplace transform based on a Fourier expansion. The variation of the heat conduction, the distribution of the stress and the strain with the fractional order parameter, second relaxation time and time are studied and the results presented graphically. Comparison between the effects of different parameters has been illustrated graphically.
Thermoelastic behavior of fractional order two temperatures heat flux of a semi infinite ceramic rod
Applied Mathematical Sciences, 2014
In the present work, a new mathematical model within the context of generalized thermoelasticity and fractional order heat conduction equation has been constructed to study the thermoelastic behavior of a semi-infinite rod made of Piezoelectric ceramic. The Laplace transformation method is employed to solve the governing equations and obtained the solution of the problem in the Laplace transform domain. The inverse Laplace transform is computed using a complex inversion formula of the transform based on a Fourier expansion. The effects of the fractional order parameter, two temperature parameter, ramp time and time parameters on the field functions are illustrated graphically. Stress components start to be tensile in the region near the source of heating. However; it becomes compressive in the region away from the heat source. The strain resembles the same behavior as the tensile.
Two-dimensional problem for thermoviscoelastic materials with fractional order heat transfer
Journal of Thermal Stresses, 2019
The model of equations of thermo-viscoelasticity with fractional order heat transfer is constructed. Some fundamental theorems on the linear coupled and generalized theories of thermo-viscoelasticity can be easily obtained as special cases. The medium is assumed initially quiescent. Laplace and Fourier integral transforms are utilized. The method of the matrix exponential which constitutes the basis of the state-space approach of modern control theory is applied to the system of two-dimensional equations. The resulting formulation is applied to a thermal shock half-space problem. The inversion process for Fourier and Laplace transforms is carried out using numerical method based on Fourier series expansions. Numerical results are given and illustrated graphically for the problem considered. Comparisons are made with the results predicted by the coupled theory and generalized theory. The effect of the fractional order parameter on all the considered fields is examined.

ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 2013
In this work, we apply the fractional order theory of thermoelasticity to a 1D thermal shock problem for a half-space. Laplace transform techniques are used. The predictions of the theory are discussed and compared with those for the coupled and generalized theories of thermoelasticity. Numerical results are computed and represented graphically for the temperature, displacement and stress distributions.
