Abstract
Oral health policy has faced, over the years, the challenge of making its programs and services more accessible to the population. The inclusion of oral health in the Family Health Strategy has enabled a breakthrough in dental practice, mainly because it offers the possibility of changing from the exclusive and technicist model to a model that values teamwork, epidemiology, and interdisciplinarity. Oral health in the Family Health Strategy aims to increase access to programs and services, and improve oral health epidemiological indices and quality of life. The objective of this study was to conduct a literature review in order to identify whether the oral health teams in the Family Health Strategy improve access to dental services. The review was conducted in the BIREME, in the BBO, LILACS, and SciELO databases, for articles published after the year 2000, in Portuguese.
