The study consists of eleven chapters. Chapter two describes the process of data collection for the study. It enumerates the various surveys that have been undertaken. Chapter three to nine present the principal findings from the analysis of data as follows: chapter three describes the sources and uses of water in different type of villages; chapter four gives the pattern of time allocation by rural women; chapter five inventories the availability of skills in cottage crafts and their utilization. Chapter six reviews the role of training institutions in the province; chapter seven describes the present marketing channels for cottage crafts; chapter eight analyses demand perspects for these products; and chapter nine assesses the role of formal and informal credit in stimulating income generating activities.
