A new efficient method for a cases of the singular integral equation of the first kind
Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2016
Various cases of Cauchy type singular integral equation of the first kind occur rather frequently in mathematical physics and possess very unusual properties. These equations are usually difficult to solve analytically, and it is required to obtain approximate solutions. This paper investigates the numerical solution of various cases of Cauchy type singular integral equations using reproducing kernel Hilbert space (RKHS) method. The solution u(x) is represented in the form of a series in the reproducing kernel space, afterwards the n-term approximate solution u n (x) is obtained and it is proved to converge to the exact solution u(x). The major advantage of the method is that it can produce good globally smooth approximate solutions. Moreover, in this paper, an efficient error estimation of the RKHS method is introduced. Finally, numerical experiments show that our reproducing kernel method is efficient.

In present paper, a numerical approach for solving Cauchy type singular integral equations is discussed. Lagrange interpolation with Gauss Legendre quadrature nodes and Taylor series expansion are utilized to reduce the computation of integral equations into some algebraic equations. Finally, five examples with exact solution are given to show efficiency and applicability of the method. Also, we give the maximum of computed absolute errors for some examples.
Approximate solution of singular integral equations of the first kind with Cauchy kernel
Applied Mathematics Letters, 2009
In this work a study of efficient approximate methods for solving the Cauchy type singular integral equations (CSIEs) of the first kind, over a finite interval, is presented. In the solution, Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind, T n (x), second kind, U n (x), third kind, V n (x), and fourth kind, W n (x), corresponding to respective weight functions W (1) (x) = (1 − x 2) − 1 2 , W (2) (x) = (1 − x 2) 1 2 , W (3) (x) = (1 + x) 1 2 (1 − x) − 1 2 and W (4) (x) = (1 + x) − 1 2 (1 − x) 1 2 , have been used to obtain systems of linear algebraic equations. These systems are solved numerically. It is shown that for a linear force function the method of approximate solution gives an exact solution, and it cannot be generalized to any polynomial of degree n. Numerical results for other force functions are given to illustrate the efficiency and accuracy of the method.
On the approximation of singular integral equations by equations with smooth kernels
Integral Equations and Operator Theory, 1995
Singular integral equations with Cauchy k ernel and piecewise{continuous matrix coe cients on open and closed smooth curves are replaced by i n tegral equations with smooth kernels of the form (t ;) (t ;) 2 ; n 2 (t)" 2 ] ;1 , " ! 0, where n(t), t 2 ;, is a continuous eld of unit vectors non{tangential to ;. We give necessary and su cient conditions under which the approximating equations have unique solutions and these solutions converge to the solution of the original equation. For the scalar case and the space L 2 (;) these conditions coincide with the strong ellipticity of the given equation.

1. Introduction. As many mathematical models in applied problems in physics and engineering lead to a first or second kind Fredholm's integral equation with singular kernel [1], considering this problem for the following investigation is justified. Ac-cording to Fubini's theorem [5, ...
The numerical solution of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind with singular kernels
Numerische Mathematik, 1972
A numerical method is given for integral equations with singular kernels. The method modifies the ideas of product integration contained in [3], and it is analyzed using the general schema of [! ]. The emphasis is on equations which were not amenable to the method in [3]; in addition, the method tries to keep computer running time to a minimum, while maintaining an adequate order of convergence. The method is illustrated extensively with an integral equation reformulation of boundary value problems for d uP (r*) u = 0; see [9].
Singular integral equations with a Cauchy kernel
Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 1986
A method is proposed to solve various linear and nonlinear integral equations with a Cauchy kernel. It yields closed-form expressions for the solutions. These involve the evaluation of infinite Hilbert integrals. Some examples of solutions of linear and non-linear equations are then presented.
On Solution of Singular Integral Equations by Operator Method
International Frontier Science Letters, 2019
In this paper, we study the exact solution of singular integral equations using two methods, including Adomian decomposition method and Elzaki transform method. We propose an analytical method for solving singular integral equations and system of singular integral equations, and have some goals in our paper related to suggested technique for solving singular integral equations. The primary goal is for giving analytical solutions of such equations with simple steps, another goal is to compare the suggested method with other methods used in this study.
RBFs for Integral Equations with a Weakly Singular Kernel
American Journal of Applied Mathematics, 2015
In this paper a numerical method, based on collocation method and radial basis functions (RBF) is proposed for solving integral equations with a weakly singular kernel. Integrals appeared in the procedure of the solution are approximated by adaptive Lobatto quadrature rule. Illustrative examples are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the presented technique. In addition, the results of applying the method are compared with those of Homotopy perturbation, and Adomian decomposition methods.
