ABSTRAK Perubahan yang muncul pada saat memasuki tahap lansia memberi dampak terhadap fisik dan psikologi seseorang.Salah satu dampak yangterjadi yaitu gangguan tidur yang memberi efek pada penurunan kualitas tidur.Kualitas tidur yang menurun disebakan kondisi fisik dan kebiasaan lansia tersebut. Sleep hygiene menjadi salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kualitas tidur lansia. Sleep hygiene dapat dilihat dari perilaku, lingkungan, diet, dan hal-hal yang dapat menginduksi tidur. Sleep Hygiene is an exercise or habit that can affect sleep. Good sleep hygiene can prevent the development of sleep disorders. The assessed components of sleep hygiene consist of sleep-wake schedule, the sleep environment, diet and common things include anxiety and daytime activities. The aim of this research is to know the description of elderly sleep hygiene at Panti Wreda Elim and Wisma Harapan Asri Semarang. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive study and cross sectional approach. Sampling technique purposive sampling is used to determine the number of samples, as many as 80 respondents consisting of 40 elderly in Panti Wreda Elim and 40 elderly in Wisma Harapan Asri. The degenerative process in the elderly will cause a decrease in function, one of which is physiological function. Insomnia is the most commonly sleep disorder in the elderly. Directly, insomnia has influences to decline the quality of life and has tendency to increased morbidity and mortality in the elderly. Many treatments have been developed to get over the complaints, but have not found an ideal therapy for insomnia in elderly. Based on that fact, its necessary a methods for management of elderly insomnia through non-pharmacological therapeutic approaches and only using drugs when urgency. The most effective non-pharmacological therapy is behavioral therapy, like sleep hygiene. Sleep hygiene is identification and modification of behavior and environment that affect sleep. As the result, this study aims to assess the correlation between sleep hygiene attitude and the degrees of insomnia on elderly in Geriatric Polyclinic of Sanglah Center General Hospital. This study was a cross sectional analytic with a total of 43 elderly who visited Geriatric Polyclinic of Sanglah Center General Hospital in February 2014. Data obtained by interview using structured questionnaire with identity, attitudes sleep hygiene, degree of insomnia use Insomnia Severity Index questionnaire. This study obtained mean sex, education, and work on each degrees of insomnia in homogeneity. Based on the correlation test, there is a correlation between sleep hygiene attitude and the degrees of insomnia on elderly in Geriatric Polyclinic of Sanglah Center General Hospital on two components, such as dietary factor (p=0.006) and exercise factor (p = 0.010), otherwise there is no correlation between sleep hygiene attitude and the degrees of insomnia on elderly in Geriatric Polyclinic of Sanglah Center General Hospital on two components, such as behavioral factor (p=0.374) and environment factor (p=0.222).

Aging could affect in various aspect, either from social, economy, legal, politic, and especially health. As people age, organ body function will decrease, either due to natural factors as well as disease. Example of disorders that often affect the elderly is sleep disorder. Efforts to improve sleep quality in elderly could be done by improving healthy lifestyle such as doing elderly gymnastics daily. The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship of sleep quality with elderly gymnastics in Lembaga Lanjut Usia Indonesia Provinsi Jawa Barat. The research method is analytical observational with cross sectional design. The number of samples taken as many as 30 people. This study used a questionnaire Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). In this study, the information that 26 elderly people (92,9%) have a good quality sleep and exercise habits of elderly 3-5 times a week on a regular basis in the last 1 month. Statistical test results using the chi square test at 95% confidence level showed that there was a significant relationship between exercise habits of elderly people with sleep quality in Lembaga Lanjut Usia Indonesia Provinsi Jawa Barat with a value of p = 0.014 (value p≤0,05). Elderly gymnastic habits that have done regularly can improve sleep quality of the elderly.

Elderly gymnastics is a sport and helps the elderly body to stay fit and stay fresh. Elderly body fitness will affect sleep patterns, because sleep is a very important requirement for human health, but not all humans can obtain the need for sleep berkuailitas in because of a problem, especially in the elderly. This study aims to determine the relationship of Elderly Gymnastics on Sleep Quality Elderly. The design of this research is Correlation with cross sectional approach. Sample size was 47 respondents. Sampling of research using Purprosive Sampling, collecting data using questioner and calculation using Chi-square Correlation test by using SPSS 17.0 error α 0,05. The results of variables of elderly gymnastics interpreted that 28 respondents (56.9%) actively followed and almost half of 19 respondents (40.4%) did not actively follow. In the elderly sleep quality variables interpreted most of the 25 respondents (53.2%) sleep quality is good, and almost half of 22 respondents (46.8%) poor sleep quality. Based on the calculation of Chi-square statistical test obtained p value = 0,000 which means smaller than α = 0.05 with a value of cc = 0,525 sufficient category. Then there is the relationship between Elderly Gymnastics with Quality Elderly Sleep at Posyandu Lestari Lansia Mojorejo Village, District Park, Madiun District in 2017 with close enough relationship. The results of this study concluded almost half of the inactivity following gymnastics because of knowledge and attitude about gymnastics, the researchers suggested the next researcher to examine the relationship of elderly perceptions about the activities of gymnastics with Sleep Quality Elderly.

Proses degeneratif pada lansia menyebabkan terjadinya penurunan kondisi, salah satu dampaknya yaitu perubahan kualitas tidur lansia. Dampak lebih lanjut menyebabkan menurunnya kemandirian lansia yang akan berujung pada penurunan kualitas hidup lansia, untuk itu perlu adanya upaya yang efektif untuk mempertahankan kualitas tidur pada lansia. Kesulitan tidur atau insomnia merupakan keluhan tentang kurangnya kualitas tidur yang disebabkan karena sulit memasuki tidur, sering terbangun malam kemudian kesulitan untuk kembali tidur, bangun terlalu pagi, dan tidur yang tidak nyenyak. Gejala ini sering terjadi pada lanjut usia (lansia). Salah satu penerapan yang dapat dilakukan dan sebagai salah satu terapi yang baik dalam menurunkan tingkat insomnia adalah dengan melakukan pola tidur sehat.
