.3 Cognitive Trans. Leader Term Paper Behavioural Therapy Approach, (original) (raw)

2022, Cognitive Trans. Leader and Behavioural Therapy

The Church leader with a sound cognitive behavioral therapy will appropriately integrate biblical principles with counseling techniques to lead the people to the right direction in life. He will meet the need of his members that has to do with life’s guidance and counseling very effectively. He or she being a good Christian servant leader will encourage his members to devote themselves to reading the word of God to help their spirit, soul and body. He will want them to have a holistic view of their problems with the desire to desist from what could be dangerous or harmful to them as the light of the word of God is illuminated in their lives through the instrumentality of the word of God. Christian counselors who are leaders are great leaders because they understand psychological techniques in handling their followers and because they allow God's word to direct the affairs of their lives (Colossians 3:16). The therapist is known in this paper as a servant leader whose loving intention may not be quickly understood by the followers, but he is genuine. It means that one hardly understands the leader by mare looking at his or her facial disposition. One could mistakenly term such a cognitive behavioral therapy’s oriented leader to be very hard or wicked because of his or her desire for change in the organization. But with time, as the leader demonstrates care and compassion towards the followers, they may eventually understand that the very person they took him or her to be too reserved or complex yesterday is not tough as they earlier insinuated (Palena, 2020). Peelings (2021:n.p.) argues that cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) helps the leader to develop greater empathy on the followers and tries to practice love and care on them in the form of psychological management of human behavior that can be very effective in solving a range of Church member’s problems. The Church leader at this dimension serves as a servant leader who places greater emphasis on healing the mind of his or her followers, particularly those suffering from various social and mental deficiencies. The leader serves as a servant leader whose focus is to bring succor or necessary healing to the mind of his or her people by providing enabling environment that results in the needed help that his or her members need at a particular point in time. He or she gives specific attention to attempting to help his or her followers at all times by counseling them on how best to overcome their pressing challenges. As a Transformational Christian leader in the Church, he or she works assiduously towards ameliorating the various suffering faced by his or her members (Corey, 2013: 7-12).
