Studies on Compatibility of Certain Insecticides with Chlorothalonil Against Pod Borer, Die-back and Fruit Rot in Chilli (original) (raw)

2010

Abstract

A comprehensive study was carried on compatibility among selected entomopathogenic fungi, insecticides and fungicides in chilli from 2006–09 at Directorate of Oil Seeds Research (DOR), Hyderabad. The effect of test insecticides viz., indoxacarb (110.34 ppm), spinosad (99.83 ppm), novaluron (383.30 ppm) and cartap hydrochloride (224.32 ppm) in combination with chlorothalonil (11.85 ppm) on the mortality of H. armigera larvae at their respective LC50 values revealed that all the combinations showed slight synergistic effect. When the indoxacarb 110.34 ppm (LC50) and novaluron 383.30 ppm (LC50) combined with chlorothalonil (1500, 2000, 2500 and 3500 ppm) resulted into synergism against third instar larvae of H. armigera. Spinosad 99.83 ppm (LC50) showed synergistic effect when combined with chlorothalonil (1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 and 3000 ppm), while cartap hydrochloride 224.32 ppm was recorded synergistic when combined with chlorothalonil (1500, 2000, 2500 and 3000 ppm) against H. armi...
