An Automatically Generated Computer-Assisted Question-Answer System to Acquire Knowledge
New Directions in …, 2003
This paper illustrates a progressive work done to implement a smart computer-assisted question-answer system, which combines different AI tools and techniques. The system is being implemented to overcome the problem raised if program developers insufficiently explore the expert's domain knowledge, which result an inadequate knowledge-based system to the task of providing good advice or making informed decisions. Thus, the best way is developing a computer-assisted question-answer system that can be generalized and used by experts themselves to transfer their ideas into a series of data, rules and knowledge. The system is automatically generated, thus experts in any domain, regardless of their computer knowledge, can use it. The system combines different AI tools and techniques to accomplish the mentioned task.
Question Answering System for an Effective Collaborative Learning
International Journal, 2012
The increasing advances of Internet Technologies in all application domains have changed life styles and interactions. With the rapid development of E-Learning, collaborative learning is an important for teaching, learning methods and strategies. Interaction between the students also student with the teacher is important for student to gain knowledge. Based on the four basic teaching styles formal authority, demonstrator or personal model, facilitator and delegator, today combined between facilitator and delegator style is responsible for student learning. It is student centered and the teacher as facilitates the material and activities, but learning becomes part of valuable and effective when they collaborate with each other, and as the teacher who will delegates and facilitates the responsibility of learning to the students. In this paper, we introduce an effective question answering Q&A system for collaborative learning, which can act not just like a virtual teacher, but also virtual discussion for student. With the proposed system, brings a new Q&A system, student can attach their question when they want collaborate using collaborative learning capitalize on one another's resources and skills. Students can ask their questions to the group when they want to collaborate with others, asking one another for information, evaluating one another's ideas, then each of the answer will compare with encyclopedia data base. In this research, the Q&A system for the Senior High School in Indonesia, in this subject of Information Communication Technology implemented. From the the 40 question and 120 answer, the result is 90,48% precision 50% recall.
Question Based Learning in Computer
This paper proposes concepts and a methodology for the design of question-based computer courses. It is inspired in Socratic maieutics on one hand and in automatic generated or adaptive tests on the other. For brevity one will call them m-courses and the computer systems able to run them m-systems. The core of the proposal lies on putting together several ideas. Presenting simultaneously a multiple sentence question and a learning process for the knowledge the question refers to. Structuring the knowledge domain of the course in molecules that satisfy a learnability or constructibility relation. Associating to each molecule a set of questions and a learning process. Presenting the course by presenting the questions in a sequence that respects the learnability relation. Allow the advance of the learner in the sequence according to her answers. It is believed that m-courses will be attractive, will enforce activity of the learner and will direct efficiently his learning efforts. This ...
Design of an automatic answering tool for e-learning environment
2004
This work constitutes a new component to be incorporated in e-learning environments. Its objective is to answer automatically the students by exploiting cumulated experiences in past e-learning' sessions. For instance, this tool will be added to the system we are developing since several years that we have called PERSO. The main objectives of PERSO is to introduce intelligence into e-learning environments by automating a set of its features (e-mail return, student profile determination, dynamic course generation, online assessment and generation of course material at the student level,…)
Education Question Answering Systems : A Survey
2021
Question answer (QA) is a field of research involving various disciplines, but it has to do with the development of information technology in various fields, especially in education. This is because of the increasing needs of users in completing their tasks, the more teaching and learning tasks that are now in the digital age, the more increasing interest in affective computing to produce increased data so that it can be available at any time according to users' needs. Where natural language processing (NLP) is a solution that can manipulate and replicate complex and complex requests and can collaborate with various other disciplines including QA to provide information automatically by assisting to get help in language for humans. The QA survey provides a general discussion about the categorization of answering literary systems that focus on education, the fields of science, social sciences, linguistics, biomedical sciences, and other disciplines related to education and discuss...
An Answering System for Questions Asked by Students in an e-Learning Context
2012
In this article, we present a system that helps tutors to answer questions asked by their students at an online university: the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). Communication between UOC students and their tutors is fully online; students ask questions and tutors answer them by e-mail. The system, which is currently being developed at the UOC's Office of Learning Technologies (OLT), aims to find multilingual contexts with useful information to enable tutors to give fast, appropriate answers to students. These contexts are extracted from course learning materials, from previous messages posted on subject discussion boards, and also from articles and other sources of information available on Recommended citation MORÉ, Joaquim; CLIMENT, Salvador; COLL-FLORIT, Marta (2012). A Review Paper: Question and Answering System
International Journal of Computer Applications, 2013
It is examined that the power of ontology based for open and closed domain question and its answering systems in this paper. In the order of obtaining an optimal database for this system, it has studied the method for linking the different phrases of different web links. The tagged corpus is built from an Internet in the bootstrapping process by providing some of the handcrafted examples of each question and their types. And then the patterns are automatically extracted from the returned documents and formatted answers are provided according to the entities and keywords provided. The precision of each entity has been calculated, and the each question type's average. This ontology is then applied to find the answers of new questions which are about to ask.
Survey on Advanced Approach to Construct E-Learning QA Systems
2018
The data-driven approach can yield high levels of performance and nicely complements traditional question answering techniques driven by information extraction. In order for question answering systems to benefit from this vast store of useful knowledge, they must copy with large volumes of useless data. Question Answering systems (QA) uses similarity in questions and ranking the relevant answer to user. The web gives large data and that require more time as well as no relevancy in answers. To solve this problem proposed system proposed novel Pairwise Learning to rank model i.e PLANE which can quantitatively rank answer candidates from the relevant question pool. Specifically, it uses two components i.e one offline learning component and one online search component. Our model is effective as well as achieves better performance than several existing questions answer selection system. User gets recommendation based on his profile. User recommend the new question to his friend and this ...
