Evaluation of Physical Fitness by Post-Exercise Heart Rate Recovery in Relation to Body Mass Index

Background: The rising prevalence of physical inactivity among youth is resulting in a decrease in their physical fitness. The aim of this study was to evaluate the physical fitness (PF) status of undergraduate medical students of Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), Lahore by assessing the heart rate recovery (HRR) after the exercise challenge in relation to their body mass index (BMI). Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in the Department of Physiology, SIMS from May to December 2019. Ninety-three (93) healthy students of first and second-year MBBS were recruited through nonprobability convenient sampling. Demographics and lifestyle components were gathered using a questionnaire. Introduction: The quantification of morphological characteristics of athletes can be a key point in relating body structure to sports performance. There is little data on the physical characteristics of young female athletes. Aims: Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the anthropometric characteristics of women's in colleges, in order to use this for training, detection and identification of talented players and find the reasons that affects their athletic performance. Methods: this study has done on 251 female students who are take part in athletic games. Height, weight, waist circumference and hip circumference and also students' athletes background mentioned in questionnaire. Statistical analysis used: The data were expressed as the mean values and their standard errors (S.E.). The variables were analyzed by one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). Pearson correlations performed between exercise break off and other anthropometric characteristics. Results: The mean of athletes' age were 22 years old and the average of their height and weight was 161.64 cm and 55.56 kg, respectively. The average of their body mass index was 21.27 kg/m 2 , which is normal. The average of waist circumference and hip circumference were 71.22 cm and 94.83 cm, respectively. The average of waist circumference to height ratio and waist to hip circumference ratio were 44.11 and 0.75, respectively which are normal. This study showed that students had more than 1 year

Abstract: The aim of this study was to find out the comparative effect of three types aerobic training on selected physiological variables of tribal boys. To achieve the purpose of the study 120 school male students were selected as subject at random from Machatora union high school and Lakshmisagar high school in Bankura district of West Bengal and age ranged of the subject is between 14 to 16years. The subject was divided into four group namely Control Group (A), Continuous Training Group (B), Fartlek Training Group (C) and Interval Training Group (D), underwent to Continuous running training for group B, underwent to Fartlek training for group C, underwent to Interval training for group D and group A act as a control group they did not participate in any of the training programme other than their regular activates. Physiological variable- cardio respiratory endurance and resting heart rate were selected for this study. The trainings were given for a period of twelve weeks. The data were collected before and after the training. The obtained data’s were analyzed by Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). The level of significant was fixed at 0.05 levels. Tukey’s post hoc test was applied to determine the significant differences between the paired adjusted means. The result of the study showed that there was as significantly improvement was found in cardio respiratory endurance and resting heart rate among the experimental group when compared with control group after 12 weeks aerobic training.

The article presents the results of the analysis of indicators of physical development, the functional state of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, the level of physical performance and morbidity, the volume of physical activity and body composition of girls aged 18-19 years during the 2017-2018 academic year. Altogether 185 girls (n=185), whose average age was 18.8 years were involved in the research. The aim of the study was to identify the specificity of the relationship between the volume of physical activity and physical condition indicators of the girls aged 18-19 years during the study in a higher educational institution. The aims of this study were to find out the effects of aerobic exercises on different health related physical fitness variables such as cardio respiratory endurance, flexibility, upper body strength endurance and abdominal strength endurance in adults women. About 32 collage girls (age ranges 21-25yrs) were enrolled as the subject of the study. Two groups were the experimental group, participated in an aerobic exercise programs and the control group. The experimental subjects group was continued for aerobic training for nine month, thrice in a week, 45min. in each time. Due to aerobic training there was no significant change occurs in case of flexibility, upper body strength endurance and abdominal strength endurance. Background & Study Aim: The optimum level of the endurance-strength abilities is necessary to perform professional activities, and many other daily tasks. The objective of this study was the correlations between anthropometric indicators, BMI, heart rate and endurance-strength abilities of young sedentary women. Material & Methods: Seventy-two female students of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (Poland) with the mean age 20.6 ±0.66 years were tested. The participants’ body mass, body height, length of upper and lower limbs, and BMI were determined. Their endurance-strength abilities were measured in the 3-minute Burpee Test (3MBT). The students’ heart rate (HR) was measured immediately before and after the test, and 30-, 60and 90 seconds after the test. The aim of the study is to examine the effect of aerobic and aerobic-submaximal exercise on adolescents who are at risk of obesity. This research is an experimental study in the screening model. The sample group consists of volunteer 72 students but it continued with the 45 healthy volunteer students. The exercise groups were organized according to the same level age (12 years) by basing on resting pulse. The study was divided into three groups consisting 15 (8 girls, 7 boys), as control, aerobic exercise and aerobic-submaximal exercise. Data of the study were uploaded to the SPSS program and statistical procedures were measured by the Independed Sample T test, the Paired Sample T test and the Anova test. The level of significance was adopted as α = 0.05. In our study, there was no significant difference in height, body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, waist circumference, waist hip ratio, body fat percentage (BFP), body fat mass (BFM), body muscle mass (BMM) variance in control group (p < 0.05). While there was no significant difference in height variable in the group performing aerobic exercise, there was a significant difference in BMI, waist circumference, hip circumference, BFP, BFM, BMM variance (p < 0.05). While there was no significant difference in height variable in the group performing aerobicsubmaximal running exercise, there was a similar difference in BMI, waist circumference, hip circumference, BFP, BFM, BMM (p < 0.05). In our study, between all girls and boys in all groups, men's waist circumference (p < 0.05), hip circumference (p < 0.10), BFP (p < 0.05) and BFM (p < 0.05) values were found more significant than women's. In this study, while there was no significant difference in height, weight, waist hip ratio in aerobic exercise and aerobic submaximal exercise method and significant difference (p < 0.05) was found in waist circumference, hip circumference, BMI, BFP, BFM, BMM. The hip circumference of the group applied the aerobic exercise method had a significant effect on the BFP variables compared to the aerobic-submaximal exercise group.
The study was conducted to investigate the effect of aerobic exercise on improving health related physical fitness components of Dilla University sedentary female community .Twenty females from Dilla university sedentary female community were selected as study subjects and their age range were22-28 years. All Selected subjects were participated in moderate intensity aerobic exercise for 12 consecutive weeks, i.e.3 days per week 60 minute duration per day. Pre, during and post training tests were conducted on the components of health related physical fitness variables The data collected from the study subject was analyzed using SPSS version 16 software. The data pertaining to health-related physical fitness components were analyzed by paired sample 't' test to determine the difference between initial and final mean for participant .According to analyzed data in 12meter run 724.8 mean difference was recorded. The mean difference value boosted in push up performance by5.4 after 12 weeks aerobic exercise. In sit up and sit and reach test 4.7 and4.52 increments were observed respectively. But in body mass index 2.18 decrement and in body weight 5.8 reduction were observed throughout the study period. The result obtained in this study indicated that there were significant improvement in cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, muscular strength and flexibility but in the case of body mass index and body weight there were reduction. The rising rate of obesity in adults, particularly university students, has become a global problem, affecting both developed as well as developing countries. 1,2 A recent large-scale study on university students from 22 countries found that prevalence of overweight and obesity in several regions of the world ranges from 3% to 59%. 1 The rates of overweight/obesity and underweight were particularly high in Pakistani university students. 1 In Pakistan, studies using the cutoffs for Asian population have found significantly higher rate of overweight/obesity in medical students and in the general population. 3-5 On the other hand, studies have found that one in every four female undergraduates in Pakistan is underweight. 4 , 6 Body mass index (BMI) is considered a relatively easy and commonly used measure to assess body composition. Evidence suggests that higher BMI is associated with increased incidence of cardiometabolic disorders (CMDs), decreased life expectancy, and certain types of cancers. 4,7,8 On the other hand, below-normal BMI is linked with a wide array of disorders. 8 Especially in females, it increases the risk of menstrual irregularities, weak immunity, and osteoporosis. 9 Cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF), also referred to as aerobic capacity, and BMI are closely associated with the risk of CMDs, all-cause mortality, and negative health outcomes. 10,12 CRF is one of the most important components of physical fitness and is defined as the "ability of the body to perform dynamic, large-muscle exercise, for prolonged periods, at moderate-to high intensity". 10 Maximum oxygen consumption, or maximal aerobic capacity (VO 2max), is considered the most widely accepted measure of functional capacity of the cardiorespiratory system, or the oxygen transport system, giving a baseline estimate of one's heart and lung capacity. 10-12 Although sophisticated laboratory equipment is required for the direct measurement of VO 2max , its most commonly

This research aims to examine medical profiles and risk factors of female and male students receiving education at different department of the university. ITU students constitute the research population. ECG, pulse, body mass index, blood values, urine values, and spirometric measures were carried out on both groups included in sample group; and those students included in risk group. As a result, the data obtained were taken under control by doctors serving at the medico-social facility of our university. In examination of blood values, cholesterol levels of those groups doing regular exercise or not doing any exercise were found to be significantly higher compared to those doing exercise. In the same direction, body fat levels of the groups were different on a significant level. No considerable finding was detected in urine values gathered.
