Execution of Web-Based Crime and Criminals Tracking System to Enable Security and Quick Access

This project work automates web based crime and criminals tracking system. The system is web based application that enable user at the international hotels and at the four police office stations to communicate each other and with district police office. All user of the system are communicating through the internet service provider infrastructure. But if the internet is down, the system will work offline. The system and its database is configured or replicated to the police station’s mini server computers at each woredas. Whenever the network is available the mini servers synchronize data with the central server at the district police office. Before we develop this project the international hotels daily fill form about their customers booked in and send by human labor to the nearby police station. The CCTS alleviates this challenge. Now, using our web system the hotel manager or receptionist access the customer booked in hotel registration page from the server, fills and hit submit button. The information is submitted to the police office through the network and saved to their computer at the same time. While the data is being submitted the data is checked against the criminal’s list using primary key or unique number, if criminal or suspects found alert or report will be displayed to the system administrator with detail information. The prototype has been tested with data from Adama city district police office. It has been observed that the system successfully registers crime and criminals, lost property, international hotels; customer booked in hotel, generates reports and provides search facilities. In addition to these, customers are not expected to go to the four police stations or woredas if they want to register lost property. As lost property, crime and criminals registered at a station it will be shared across the network. It has also been shown that the system facilitates to view the status of cases, knowledge bases. This system promotes the manual works into digital. It reduces the time, produces accurate results and also implements security for the information.

Online Crime Reporting System Project

The objective is to design and develop an application that will help to imp rove the efficiency and effectiveness of the police security measures in keeping criminal records. ABSTRACT The victims can file the FIR through the website under various sections. The user can send photo evidence if any online. There will be an 'SOS 'capability in which, the user can press a button and his/her location will be sent to the nearest Police station. There will be a separate component for the accident victims so that FIR can be registered fast and treatment can be started as soon as possible. In this current system, user's information will be kept confidential and only users complain will be forwarded to its nearest police station. Users complain number will be forwarded from the server side automatically. For identifying location and authentic person, concept of cookies and IP addressing has been used. To eliminate the location conflicts between police station, server will play a vital role. It will search the address table using IP address and forward message to that police location from where the message has been received. We intend to create a project which will help bridge the gap between the police department and the common man. 'Online FIR Registration and SOS system' project will have an app from where the users can file FIR against the offender under the various sections. The main site will be maintained by the admin (from the police) who will then notify the user if the FIR has been registered and the necessary action has been taken.

Crime Record Management System

The Crime Record Management System is a web-based application designed to improve the management of crime records across all police stations in the country. Effective crime prevention, detection, and conviction rely heavily on a responsive information management system. Therefore, centralizing information management in crime is proposed for the efficient sharing of crucial information among police stations. Initially, the system will be implemented in cities and towns and later interconnected to enable police staff to access information from all records in the state, ultimately helping to close cases faster. The system will also generate information for proactive and preventive measures to fight crime. The project will adopt a distributed architecture with a centralized database storage system, with high priority given to security and data protection mechanisms. The application is designed to handle various modules and their associated reports, produced in line with the administrative staff's applicable strategies and standards. In summary, the Crime Record Management System is a web-based application that aims to improve the management of crime records across police stations in the country. The system is designed to centralize information management, generate crucial information for crime prevention, and provide efficient and fast access to records. The project adopts a distributed architecture with centralized database storage, prioritizing data protection and security mechanisms while producing reports that align with applicable administrative strategies and standards.

Design and Implementation of Online Crime Investigation System for Anonymous Person

Crime investigation system keeps track and maintains history about each and every case in the database which ultimately avoids manual and paper work. It is based on decentralized client-server architecture in order to facilitate independent functioning of all units. Here information flows from lower units to higher units and vice-versa. The project is built on multi-tier architecture. It provides quick access to data which is essential for effective prevention, control and detection of crime. It also helps decision-making and decision support processes. Crime investigation system is an intelligent decision support system that can assist human investigators by automatically constructing plausible scenarios. Some of the benefits of crime investigation system to existing system are quick retrieval of data, huge saving of time, proper deployment & utilization of manpower, cost reduction leading to saving in expenditure. It enables the police service to supervise and administer any incident and process related information by providing standardized processes and procedures to monitor and improve performance. Using this application people can give their complaint through online. To register any type of complaint they need to register his personal details along with login details. Once he/she registers in the application he/she can post their complaints.

E-Police Police Record Management System

E - police system is an e - government related service and it makes the communication process a possibility, a gr eat success for modern era which increases the professional efficiency for the government police administration. In this paper we focus on the infrastructure of an e - police system as well as its steps, challenges of implementation and its necessity. E - pol ice is intended to provide total computerized information system support for the work of the police. This system registers the complaints from people through online and is helpful to the police department for further process. The aim of this project is to develop an E - police reporting and management system which is easily accessible to the public, police department and the administrative department. E - police would also help provide division heads and senior officers with management information about crime control, and about administration and support services such as accounting and personnel management. This helps to higher authorities of police to have an overview about the progress of the investigation; feature is made available to public for interaction with police indirectly.

An Application Development for Record Keeping of Police Stations in Pakistan

The Police and Police stations have its adequate importance all around the world in this era where the crime rate is very high, the situation of Pakistan is also same. Currently, the police stations in Pakistan are utilizing the old method (hard paper) of FIR registration and which requires extra effort to maintain the record of criminals and to trace someone's record also require unnecessary time which can be saved by 10 digitizing the police stations records. Although, some police stations do use digital record keeping in Excel sheets but the Integrity problem is noticed in file based record also the access is slower for searching single record the officer/official has to go through all the records in the sheet which consumes extra time. The excel sheets can only be used by a single person at a time and also they do not have any security mechanism, anyone who has access to the computer can easily access the sensitive record. To 15 overcome these issues we have developed an application for the police station to digitize the method of FIR system and other important official records about the staff and necessary registers used by police stations

Police stations within the town are still operating manually like filing first information Report (FIR) which are reported on paper due to this there are possibilities of misplacing those records. The proposed on-line system-Intellectual and Enhance Digital Solutions (IEDS) for the Police Stations which is able to facilitate the police officer and user to digitalize their work. This technique can maintain the records in the database. Records like missing individuals, murder data, photograph report, etc. helps the police officer to keep the data in their pocket and search on single touch.

When one police station requires any criminal information during their investigations, they need to call at that police station and get it, which is time consuming and require manpower. I. Introduction The war against crime and criminality is a global war which is even getting more sophisticated with the use of various kinds of hi-tech weapons and devices. As the criminals are getting more technical, so the agencies responsible for the prevention and control of crimes are getting more sophisticated in both their approach and equipment. It is also true that the more populated and complex a society becomes, the wider the range of antisocial conducts and activities that must be monitored and controlled. Crime is part of human activities that must be managed as no human society has ever been totally free of criminals and it is unlikely that society will ever be [6].Crime occurs because there are criminals and criminals are ordinary person with personality likes every normal human beings although there may be certain traits or super traits within a structured model of personality which may be linked to such antisocial behavior [10]. In ordinary language, the term crime denotes an unlawful act punishable by a state [5]. The term "crime" does not, in modern criminal law, have any simple and universally accepted definition [5], though statutory definitions have been provided for certain purposes. The most popular view is that crime is a category created by law; in other words, something is a crime if declared as such by the relevant and applicable law. One proposed definition is that a crime or offence (or criminal offence) is an act harmful not only to some individuals but also to a community, society or the state. Such acts are forbidden and punishable by law [3]. There is a general consensus that acts such as murder, rape and theft are to be prohibited exists worldwide, butwhat precisely is a criminal offence is defined by criminal law of each country. While many have a catalogue of crimes called the criminal code, in some common law countries, no such comprehensive statute exists. Law enforcement agencies have, for years, explored new ideas to provide more effective policing services and devise ways in which the police could serve more areas of the community with the same number of officers. This has yielded positive results to a greater extent however crime rate is still on the increase due to poor reporting system, high-tech standard of criminal activities and inability of the police to cover large areas at the same time. This inadequacy of facilities and expertise to cover large geographical areas and its mitigation therefore provided the motivation for this research. This research will explore the use of technology to assist the Police and other law enforcement agencies in their efforts to reduce crime. In a vast and highly populated country like Nigeria, when criminal records are documented against perpetrator and perhaps made available for public consumption, it will reduce the rate of criminality. This work incorporate IP Geo-location lookup which will overcome the problem of poor streets naming convention in Nigeria and aid crime investigative agencies locate the crime scene as soon as they are reported.
