As expected, analyzes of the individual determinants of the elderly can produce insights that will reinforce the improvement of their quality of life. There are correlations found between age (p=0.006), education level (p=0.035), health condition (p=0.001), and financial condition (p=0.005) with the elderly's quality of life. However, the determinants of gender, ethnicity, workload, marital status, and living conditions are found to have no influence upon their quality of life. World Health Organization (WHO) mengembangkan instrumen untuk mengukur kualitas hidup, multidimensional serta lintas budaya yaitu WHO Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) dan WHO Quality of Life-OLD (WHOQOL-OLD).
The Quality of Life of Young Old (YOLD) Elders in Elderly Clubs in Jakarta
Proceedings of the International Conference on Economics, Business, Social, and Humanities (ICEBSH 2021)
Early in 2020, the term YOLD, namely "Young Old", is an elder between the ages of 65 and 75 who still has the characteristics of a young person. Declining conditions in some aspects need to be adjusted by elders to avoid feeling useless, excluded, lonely or prone to disease. However, if they have a positive outlook and realize that their experiences and wisdom can be role models for the next generation, they can have a good quality of life. Quality of life is an individual's view of their position in life, in their culture or value system, related to expectations, interests, and achievements. This study aims to describe the quality of life of YOLD joining elderly clubs in Jakarta. The YOLD measuring instrument used is the Indonesian version of the WHOQOL-BREF which is a Likert scale consisting of 26 items. The number of participants in this study were 66 elders. The results of this study indicate that the elders' quality of life has differences in terms of the need for assistance and hope. Elders who feel they have enough activities have a higher quality of life than elders who want to have more activities.

Residential area has been identified as a factor that influences the well-being of older people. This study aimed to compare the well-being of older people living in urban and rural areas in Yogyakarta province, Indonesia, and analyze the predictors of well-being. A total of 141 (79 rural and 62 urban) older people participated in this study. Well-being was assessed using the world health organization-five (WHO-5) well-being index. The factors measured included sociodemographic data (age, sex, educational level, living arrangements, and current employment status), physical function, cognitive function, depression, independence, and attitude towards aging. Data of the two groups were compared using t-tests and Chi-square analysis. Correlations with well-being were analyzed using univariate correlation and multivariate hierarchical regression. The urban group had slightly older age, higher education, lower mobility and balance, higher attitude scores, and higher well-being. Depression was a significant variable in well-being for both communities. Physical capacity was an important factor in urban populations, while well-being in rural areas was better predicted by independence and cognitive function. The results suggest that there are similar and different correlates of the well-being of rural and urban older people, recommending different programs to enhance the well-being of older people living in different areas.

Methods: this is a cross-sectional study covering a sample representative of the Indonesian community-dwelling elderly. The study was conducted among 487 elderly in 43 cities in Indonesia between November-December 2010. A structured questionnaire was applied to obtain independent variable such as age, sex, number of diseases, present activities, functional status (ADL score), cognitive status (AMT score), nutritional status (NRI score), and depression status. Quality of life as dependent variable was assessed by Euroqol-5D (Eq-5D). We defined good quality of life as 3 or more dimensions of Eq5D having score of 1. Predictors of quality of life were identified using multiple logistic regression analysis. We constructed a scoring system based on coefficients in multivariable analysis. Calibration performance of the score was evaluated by Hosmer-Lemeshow tests while discrimination performance was evaluated with the c-statistic.
