Isokinetic knee flexor strength after acl reconstruction with hamstring tendon autograft (original) (raw)
2013
Abstract
Purpose: The aim of our study was to examine the knee flexors torque in patients with ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, treated with quadrupled single bundle hamstrings autograft at more than two years after operation. Material-Methods: 35 patients, (22 male and 13 female), aged between 17 and 44 years (av.28), were subjected to flexion and extension isokinetic measurements, at least 24 months after ACL reconstruction using hamstrings quadruple autograft. The isokinetic dynamometer Con-Trex MJ was used, at angular velocities 60°/ sec and 120°/sec. The findings were compared to healthy side. Results: At 60°/sec, the average Torqional Moment for Flexion (TMF) was 96.5 Nm, for the operated side and 110.8 Nm for the healthy side. At 120°/sec, the corresponding average values were 94.3 and 108.1 Nm. The Extension Torquional Moment, (TME), average values were at 60°/sec 187.2 Nm for the operated side and 197.3 Nm for the contralateral side. At 120°/sec, the TME av. value was 182.1 Νm f...
