Investments into Economic Branches of Azerbaijan Republic and Their Effectiveness

The article is devoted to detail analysis of investments into the economic branches of Azerbaijan, contributed from local and foreign investors, as well as the implementation and the effectiveness of these investments from economic and geographical point of views. The priorities and perspective ways of development of non-oil sector in condition of market economy are determined in the research work. Besides this, necessity of realization of corresponding investment policy for achieving sustainable development of country's regions is substantiated and shown.

A Survey Opportunities and Challenges of Foreign Investment in Iran (A Case Study of East Azarbaijan province)

With economic globalization and international trade , political risk assessment on behalf of foreign investors has become more important . Investors are trying to be more confident to invest in other countries embark . Thus the policy and the economic and political acceptability of particular importance is. Social stability , political stability, political structure , government , state power , and how decision-making, organizational discipline and ... Are important in attracting foreign investment . The most important point that should be paid attention to raise funds for a thorough understanding of the opportunities and challenges of the target country have. Therefore the main objective of the present study opportunities and challenges for foreign investment in Iran (case study of East Azarbaijan province). Accordingly , while a comprehensive review of literature on issues related to data collected by questionnaire , reliability has been 816 % . The population of this study, all managers , experts in East Azerbaijan province is investing companies . Sample according to the method of estimation is the sample volume was 205 . According to the conceptual model and the statistical tests used, which is calculated by the software and run 16 SPSS . The results of this study are positive and significant relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable attract foreign investment and economic, political , and there are rules and regulations . Friedman test results also showed that political factors have the greatest impact on attracting foreign investment .

The Problems of Investment Climate in Uzbekistan

The paper aims to give some insights into the investment environment and the analyses of factors influencing. The study is motivated by the high failure rate of foreign investments in Uzbekistan The findings of the study will benefit both local investors who are interested in learning about contemporary methods of investment valuation and foreign investors who are interested in assessing investment opportunities in Uzbekistan. The complexities of evolution of investment opportunities in emerging markets have been studied before. The problems associated with transparency, foreign exchange volatility and liquidity, contagion, governance, political risks (Note 1), and corruption have differing impacts on pricing and valuation across countries and regions. Uzbekistan is a newly-independent Central Asian country, where the same approaches of valuation methods are employed as in Russia, the Ukraine, and other European parts of the former Soviet Union. The provided analysis of investment climate in Uzbekistan suggests that the currency convertibility, lack of transparency and predictability, overregulated financial sector, limiting ownership and restrictions in "strategic" sectors are the greatest obstacles for many potential foreign investors. Also, inadequacies in investment policy and underdevelopment of stock exchange resulted 60% of all foreign investments went to energy sector. Overall business climate in Uzbekistan can be described as stable, but with a potential for rapid growth in the event of more radical reforms towards market.

PROTECTION OF FOREIGN INVESTMENT IN CASE OF DETERIORATION OF INVESTMENT СLIMATE IN UZBEKISTAN

This graduation qualification thesis aims to analyze the investment climate of Uzbekistan with a particular focus on its deterioration and examine measures to improvement of the investment climate which eventually lead to the protection of the investor`s rights. This subject will be examined from a historical, present and prospective point of view. The thesis will demonstrate the achievements in the investment climate in comparison with the previous investment climate. It will compare dates taken by international organizations. The thesis is divided into two chapters. Chapter I provides a succinct overview of the nature and regulation of foreign investment as well as related issues and discusses the historical background of foreign investment and its protection. It will also discuss foreign investment as a necessity for developing host countries. This Chapter will conclude by discussing the risks and challenges faced by investor pre and post establishment in host states. Chapter II will explore the existing international investment legal framework with a focus on identifying the international norms and minimum standards on protection of investors. Those international minimum standards will be discussed as standards for assessing domestic investment laws and related policies. Lastly, it will make recommendations to the policy-makers in Uzbekistan for policy refinements and modernization of its investment policy framework in line with international norms and standards. Accordingly, a critical description and analysis of the current system will be provided. Then, it will be identified some of the basic problems of the current investment climate of Uzbekistan and addresses some of the main suggestions for improvements of the investment climate and protection of the investor`s rights. The findings will contribute toward improved policies necessary to meet Uzbekistan's current challenge of achieving higher and more sustained economy.

Role of Economic Freedom in Attracting Investments in the Context of Azerbaijan

Since foreign investments are crucial in developing economy and breaking poverty chain, the majority of developing countries, which suffer from the lack of investment savings in countries, enter the competition in attracting investments. In the competition, they realize that economic freedom has to be improved for investments to come to the economy as well as other freedom level indices. This paper analyzes the key factors needed to better off in order to attract investments, the linkage between foreign capital and the level of freedom of countries investigated in theory and practice, and Azerbaijan’s current economic freedom level and improvements. Sharp decline in oil prices since 2015 that forced government to devaluate the currency twice lead to government reforms in non-oil sector in Azerbaijan. This study also investigates impact of Azerbaijan economic freedom level improved by economic and legislative reforms on economic freedom indices set by World Bank Doing Business and other organizations.
