Water Quality Monitoring System in Guorami Fish Cultivation Based on Microcontroller
Atlantis Highlights in Engineering, 2021
The growth of gourami is not only influenced by food but also by the quality of water as its habitat. Water suitable for use as a habitat for gourami is freshwater. Therefore, goramy farmers need to maintain water quality for the survival of gourami. Water quality is influenced by several parameters including temperature, pH, and water turbidity. The standard temperature of gourami ranges from 24 ° C to 30 °C, pH is 4 to 11, water turbidity remains bright at 20 cm or more. The method used is to create a water quality monitoring system using a temperature sensor, pH sensor, and water turbidity sensor based on ESP32. The temperature sensor testing can work at a temperature of 20 ° C to 50 ° C, testing the pH sensor ranges from pH 4 to 9.18, and testing the turbidity sensor at a viewing distance of 0.1, 10, and 20. The water quality monitoring system developed has been validated and has been work well.

Rapid technological developments have penetrated the application of technology in the field of aquaculture. Climate Changes that are currently uncertain and beyond prediction encourage the application of technology to increase fishery production and modernization. The purpose of this study is to design a water quality monitoring system that can be monitored remotely in real-time using an internet-based smartphone/PC application. It is equipped with an early warning system to monitor the water quality set by the upper and lower thresholds. This device is based on Robotdyn Uno Wifi R3 ESP8266 with IoT technology. The alarm system uses a buzzer and LED indicator to make it understandable to fishermen. We tested the device in two stages. Results showed that the alarm system responds to all changes in water quality that exceeds the set threshold. Water quality data can be monitored with an internet-based smartphone application and updated every 15-16 seconds
A Water-Quality Dynamic Monitoring System Based on Web-server-embedded Technology for Aquaculture
Water-quality monitoring technology has been taken a great attention in aquaculture because of increasing aquatic products and impact of food safety vicious incidents. In order to meet the technology requirements of water-quality monitoring in multi-parameter, dynamic, and networked monitoring, a water-quality dynamic monitoring system was developed to monitor multi-parameter water-quality variables such as water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, electrical conductivity, oxidation reduction potential dynamically, and communicate with remote information servers in a high security. As result of a two-years testing experiment in a seawater aquiculture company, relative errors of each water-quality parameter measured by the instrument were less than 5%, data lost percentage of remote communication was less than 3%, and power energy consumption was less than 13W. Therefore, the water-quality dynamic monitoring system as a node infrastructure of wireless sensor networks can be used to achieve a distributed water-quality network monitoring system in a large-scale aquaculture farm, or to construct a distributed water-quality monitoring network system in multipoint of different cities for aquaculture farm and administration section.
An Integrated Wireless Multi-Sensor System for Monitoring the Water Quality of Aquaculture
Sensors
Water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), electrical conductivity (EC), and salinity levels are the critical cultivation factors for freshwater aquaculture. This paper proposes a novel wireless multi-sensor system by integrating the temperature, pH, DO, and EC sensors with an ESP 32 Wi-Fi module for monitoring the water quality of freshwater aquaculture, which acquires the sensing data and salinity information directly derived from the EC level. The information of water temperature, pH, DO, EC, and salinity levels was displayed in the ThingSpeak IoT platform and was visualized in a user-friendly manner by ThingView APP. Firstly, these sensors were integrated with an ESP32 Wi-Fi platform. The observations of sensors and the estimated salinity from the EC level were then transmitted by a Wi-Fi network to an on-site Wi-Fi access point (AP). The acquired information was further transmitted to the ThingSpeak IoT and displayed in the form of a web-based monitoring system which can be ...

Numerous individuals in Riau Province are engaged in the fish cultivation due to the province's ample water supply and the substantial market demand, which generates relatively high selling prices. The significance of water quality issues in fish aquaculture stems from the fact that fish inhabit water. Water quality is determined by a number of parameters, including acidity, temperature, turbidity, and the quantity of dissolved substances. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a device capable of monitoring water quality. The water parameters observed through the utilization of sensors and the Internet of Things were temperature, acidity, dissolved solids concentration, and turbidity. Utilizing the Rapid Application Development (RAD) Method, the research was completed through the following phases: Analysis, design, development, evaluation, implementation, and simulation. A device comprised of electronic components, including a microcontroller and sensors, was the result of this research. Monitoring parameter data was collected in real time via sensors and subsequently stored on a cloud server. The tools developed as a consequence of this research enable fish producers to acquire parameter data in real time. These tools serve the purpose of generating responses to normalize water quality and to facilitate action in response to changes in water quality.

Maintaining the water quality of a pond is one of the main issues on aquaculture management. Water quality represents the condition of a pond based on several water parameters such as dissolved oxygen (DO), temperature, pH, and salinity. All of these parameters need to be strictly supervised since it affects the life-sustainability of cultivated organisms. However, DO is said to be the main parameter since it affects the growth and survival rate of the shrimp. Therefore, a water quality control and monitoring system is needed to maintain water parameters at acceptable value. The system is developed on a mini-PC and microcontroller which are integrated with several sensors and actuator forming an embedded system. Then, this system is used to collect water quality data that is consisting of several water parameters and control the DO as the main parameter. In accordance with the stability needs against the sensitive environment, a fuzzy logic-based controller is developed to maintain ...
