21 12 Data from identified and referred cases of police brutality are now reported through use of ARCT format of effective documentation of torture, Since 2012, there are 13 cases reported by PTD MinePeza, Fushe-Kruja PTD, Jordan Misja PTD, Lushnja PTD and Durres PTD. 13 Of these, here are 5 cases reported by the prison authorities in Tirana 313 Prison, Saranda Pre-detention and Fushe-Kruja.

Routine police torture: Towards a personalistic analysis and strategy

In this article I present a personalistic analysis of and a strategy for the fight against routine police torture. I assume that the strategy presented here has a broader area of application than routine police torture. As the idea of a personalistic approach was born while looking for possibilities to do something about routine police torture in developing countries, I will follow that line here. So I have a double ambition in this article. The first is to develop the idea of the personalistic analysis and strategy; the second is to find ways to apply it to routine police torture.

The Ill-Treatment & Torture (ITT) Data Project Coding Rules & Norms

This coding project will produce a dataset that contains information to help researchers answer four questions about state torture: How many victims of torture?; What government agencies torture?; What types of torture are used?; and What is the state response to torture? To do so the project codes data on four primary concepts: Incidence, Perpetrators, Motive, and Judicial Response.

Disaggregating Torture Allegations: Introducing the Ill-Treatment and Torture (ITT) Country-Year Data

The Ill-Treatment and Torture (ITT) Data Collection Project uses content analysis to measure allegations of government ill-treatment and torture made by Amnesty International (AI) from 1995 to 2005. ITT's country-year (CY) data quantify AI allegations of ill-treatment and torture at the country-year unit of observation and further across different responsible government agents and across different econo-socio-political groups of alleged victims.
