A Review: Cluster Head Selection using Fuzzy logic in Wireless Sensor Networks

2015

Despite significant advancements in wireless sensor networks (WSNs), energy conservation remains one of the most important research challenges. In designing the Wireless Sensor Networks, the energy is the most important consideration because the life time of the sensor node is limited by the battery of it. This paper deals with study and analysis of the investigating power consumption in wireless network and investigating the possible way to reduce the power consumption at Base Station. To overcome this demerit many research approaches have been done. The clustering is the one of the representative approaches. Proper organization of nodes (clustering) is one of the major techniques to expand the lifespan of the whole network through aggregating data at the cluster head. The cluster head is the backbone of the entire cluster. In this paper, a fuzzy logic approach to cluster-head election is proposed based on four descriptors - remain energy, neighbor distance, concentration and centra...

Optimal Selection of Cluster Head (CH) using Fuzzy Logicin Wireless Sensor networks (WSNs

During last decades of advancements in technology, new ways are opened to think and develop an infrastructure that can perform sensing, monitoring, communication and computation for administrators of the system to perform different task.In Wireless sensor networks (WSNs), selection of appropriate Cluster Head (CH) is very important task in wireless sensor networks for stability and reduction of frequent reselection of CH. Considering the limitations of WSNs, there is a need of some intelligent and novel approach so that the energy consumption is optimized and frequent reselection of CH is reduced. The selections of a various input parameters with assigned weight may significant improve the CH selection, eliminating the frequent reselection of CH. In this paper a novel fuzzy logic based CH selection scheme is proposed that takes in account of different parameters including battery power, vulnerability and communication history to optimally select CH. Overall aim of the study is to identify different clustering challenges, Cluster head selection parameters and analyzing them to find the impact on performance of overall network life time.

Fuzzy Based Energy Competent Cluster Head Selection in Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a wireless communication System based on embedded system and sensor system, which is equipped with lots of low-cost micro low-power sensor nodes. Nowadays, WSN has been widely applied in various fields for their merits, such as smart home, environmental monitoring, and military surveillance, disaster relief operations etc .The wireless sensor network checks physical and environmental status, data is collected and sent to the base station via network. Clustering combines several sensor nodes to form a cluster and elects a head for the clusters formed. Cluster formation and cluster head selection plays major role in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs).In order to select a Cluster Head various parameter such as residual energy, centrality, number of neighbors, distance to base station etc., can be considered. . This paper focuses on coordination of sensor nodes in a network and selection of best node which keeps information of affiliated sensor node for communication with cluster head of other clusters using fuzzy logic.BFO algorithm also used for optimization .This model improves the network lifetime and efficiency of the Cluster Head.

Energy Efficiency Cluster Head Election using Fuzzy Logic Method for Wireless Sensor Networks

2017

The main challenge in wireless sensors networks (WSN) is to conserve the energy consumption and prolong the lifetime of network. Since sensor nodes are deployed in hostile area and it is difficult to recharge their batteries or change it, we must maintain the lifetime of these nodes as longer as possible. Electing the appropriate Cluster Head (CH) becomes very important. Many clustering algorithms have been developed for selecting the best CHs. In this paper, we introduce a new clustering algorithm which elects CHs using fuzzy logic method and based on a set of parameters which increases the lifetime of WSN. In fact, we adopt three principle criteria: the remaining energy of node, the number of neighbors within cluster range and the distance between node and CH for electing best suitable nodes as CH. Simulation results shows that our proposed algorithm beats the other algorithms in regards of prolonging the lifetime of network and saving residual energy.

Parameter based Cluster Head Election in Wireless Sensor Network: A Fuzzy Approach

2014

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is the bunch of thousands sensor nodes because a single sensor node has very limited competence in sensing and isn’t sufficient for extracting and transmit useful data. So this process should be competent by using a number of sensor nodes. Wireless sensor network is easily deployed in compare to any other networks because they don’t need any particular framework. In wireless sensor network, nodes receive signal from limited area. When this signal is sensed and transmit the information to base station, nodes consume energy. Wireless sensor network contain distinct parameters like energy, processing power and storage. But the energy of nodes is the most important consideration among them. LEACH is one of the prominent proactive sensor network protocols and in this cluster head is selected on the basis of probability of each round, whereas in our proposed method cluster head is selected on the premises of three fuzzy parameters-residual energy, neighbor a...
