The Development of Multimedia-Multilingual Document Storage, Retrieval and Delivery System for E-Organization (STREDEO PROJECT) (original) (raw)

Design And Development Of A Prototype Digital Documents Management System (DDMS) Using Open Source Software Koha

This paper describes how to design and develop a Digital Documents Management System (DDMS) for manage own desktop/laptop digital documents using the open source software like JAVA, Apache, Image Magic, Perl and Greenstone Digital Library Software (GSDL). Dublin Core Metadata are used for constructing the digital collection. DDMS provides comprehensive, pinpointed, full text, cross-collection, free text, metada based, Boolean search facilities to save the objective time as well subjective time. It support various types of files and formats like audio, video and picture and '.doc', '.txt', '.xml', '.pdf', '.htm/html', '.ppt' etc. Different languages may be customizable as per the requirement of the user.

RIMMEL: Recuperación de Información Multilingüe y Multimedia y su Evaluación TIN2004-07588-C03

The object of the project is the development, integration, evaluation and application of a multilingual and multimedia Information Retrieval system, in a production environment. The system will be technologically competitive in international fora. The research groups that participate in this project proposal are working collaboratively for the last years in this research field. As a result of this collaboration, they have integrated some resources and tools developed previously in a separate way. The current challenges are to develop and to integrate resources and own technology specifically for multilingual and multimedia Information Retrieval, targeting to enhance performance, to cover a significant number of languages, to test different techniques for all these aspects, to evaluate them in an international context and to apply them in an industrial scenario developing a specific prototype.

Development and Integration of a Document Management System in a Modular Web Platform with Efficient Storage Mechanism

Master Thesis, 2010

The web-based document management system is used for distribution, submission, review, and management of documents. Clients can access the documents from anywhere in the world by using instantaneous on-line access. Users submitting documents can update them, reviewers can add comments, and the interface is designed as per client’s requirements. In this thesis, the document management system is designed and implemented with a space-efficient document storage mechanism and version control using Subversion. Additionally, a security concept of the system is designed and implemented according to the client’s specific requirements using Role Based Access Control (RBAC) techniques.

Electronic Document Exchange and Management for the Governmental Organizations

During the electronic document exchange processes, new information may be added, existing information may be modified , and control information has to be checked. For different purposes different formats are created and used by different organisations even if they share one database system. Our investigation in the project MIWIS (Metadata Infrastructure for the Web Information Systems in Swedish Governmental Sectors) for the Swedish governmental organisations has revealed that regional and local governmental organisations and departments usually have their own database systems and use their own customised electronic document formats. Their documents are sent out along with the localised formats. These localised formats hinder the exchange of electronic documents among organisations. In the WWW community, the metadata concept is introduced to provide a set of structural descriptions of information. A number of metadata models have been proposed. Some of them are developed along with ...

A Tutorial on the MILOS Multimedia Content Management System

Abstract In this paper we present the MILOS 1 Multimedia Content Management System. MILOS supports the storage and content based retrieval of any multimedia documents whose descriptions are provided by using arbitrary metadata models represented in XML. It provides developers of digital library applications with functionalities for dealing with heterogeneous digital documents, heterogeneous metadata, and metadata schema mapping.

Development of Multilingual Resource Management Mechanisms for Libraries

LPP, 2018

Multilingual is one of the important concept in any library. This study is create on the basis of global recommendations and local requirement for each and every libraries. Select the multilingual components for setting up the multilingual cluster in different libraries to each user. Development of multilingual environment for accessing and retrieving the library resources among the users as well as library professionals. Now, the methodology of integration of Google Indic Transliteration for libraries have follow the five steps such as (i) selection of transliteration tools for libraries (ii) comparison of tools for libraries (iii) integration Methods in Koha for libraries (iv) Development of Google indic transliteration in Koha for users (v) testing for libraries (vi) results for libraries. Development of multilingual framework for libraries is also an important task in integrated library system and in this section have follow the some important steps such as (i) Bengali Language Installation in Koha for libraries (ii) Settings Multilingual System Preferences in Koha for libraries (iii) Translate the Modules for libraries (iv) Bengali Interface in Koha for libraries. Apart from these it has also shows the Bengali data entry process in Koha for libraries such as Data Entry through Ibus Avro Phonetics for libraries and Data Entry through Virtual Keyboard for libraries. Development of Multilingual Digital Resource Management for libraries by using the DSpace and Greenstone. Management of multilingual for libraries in different areas such as federated searching (VuFind Multilingual Discovery tool ; Multilingual Retrieval in OAI-PMH tool ; Multilingual Data Import through Z39.50 Server ). Multilingual bibliographic data edit through MarcEditor for the better management of integrated library management system. It has also create and editing the content by using the content management system tool for efficient and effective retrieval of multilingual digital content resources among the users.

Multilingual documents management by using Universal Networking Language UNL on Alignment Gestion Tool OGA

Universal Networking Language (UNL), Universal Word (UW), converter/deconverter, multilingual translation, linguistic alignment and correspondences of documents, parallel multilingual documents Summary The paper aims to present multilingual document alignment and translation on the platform OGA (Outil de Gestion d'Alignement, Alignment Gestion Tool) by using the UNL (Universal Networking Language). Essential management allowed by OGA is to create a parallel multilingual document by importing in the associated data base the different monolingual files, edited on different software, corresponding to its resources in several languages. UNL is a sort of interlingua such as pivot languages in certain MT systems, which enables to translate documents into several different languages. UNL system contains UW dictionaries, decorder and encorder. The typical sitution OGA engages in is the internationalization of same documents in different languages in small office, that's the situation where documents alignment and translation are required at the same time. OGA was developed to fulfill these needs in a user-friendly environment. We describe, first, OGA and UNL language. Second, we introduce UNL expressions rewritten from French leaflet by screen images on OGA. Third, we make a French generation experimentation by using a deconverter. Finally, we discuss the adventage of UNL language and its application to the translation on OGA, while comparing OGA with other software.

New Developments for Electronic Document Management in University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest

Romanian universities are focused both on education and research. Therefore efficient administration of funds and thorough correlation of diverse activities are required. To assure more efficient and transparent document management specialised software, adapted for higher education institution requirements was developed by SIVECO and implemented in University Politehnica of Bucharest. The university management has specific features as reflected in workflows defined both by the legislation and internal regulations. The document management platform is based on SIVADOC software, created by SIVECO Romania. This software was transformed and customised to satisfy the specific needs of the document management system in a large university. The system architecture has clearly defined levels and consequently the application can be distributed on several application servers or database server clusters. One of the major problems to solve when defining a document management system was to transfo...

Metadata for multilingual content management-A practical experience with the SARE-Bi system

2003

This paper describes a multilingual document managing system, SARE-Bi, that is based on the use of metadata. In this system, metadata have the role of controlling all phases of a document's life cycle, from the drafting of the first version up to the reutilization of published material, including all intermediate phases of translation, post-edition, validation, publication, and others.
