Carbon Dioxide to Hydrogen Economy (original) (raw)
This proposal meets the following focus areas. Next generation Clean and Renewable Energy-CO2 to Hydrogen Energy Storage-Mg/CO2 Battery Carbon Sequestration-sequestration. This proposal is "out-of-the-box", innovative, entrepreneurial, disruptive and addresses the goal of getting to net zero. In fact, it goes beyond net zero to negative carbon. It latches on to current industry activities in carbon capture, providing a more cost-effective alternative to deep well sequestration. It is based on sound science and engineering research and has tangible potential for commercial viability.

A new route for hydrogen production with simultaneous CO2 capture
2000
This paper presents the results of a pre-combustion decarbonisation route for electricity production. Here, the fuel (natural gas) is converted into hydrogen with simultaneous CO2 capture. The hydrogen is fed to a gas turbine for electricity production. Efficiencies have been calculated for four systems in which this concept is realized using three different CO2 sorbents. All systems show an effi
The challenge of hydrogen production for the transition to a CO2-free economy
2012
The energy demand of the world is foreseen to be increased due to the improvements on the living standard of the developing countries and the development of the global economy. The increase in sustainability of the energy supply must be considered as a must to avoid spoiling natural resources for the next human generations and more dramatic effects such as the so-called global atmospheric warming. The utilization of CO2-free energy sources, as in the case of renewables, is one of the most promising ways to attain such objectives. Nevertheless, the massive energy production with such energy sources are far from being practically feasible in the short-medium term and an innovative solution should be put into practice for the CO2free exploitation of the huge fossil fuel resources already available. This general assumption is also applicable to any energy carrier such as Hydrogen or electricity. In this case, an analysis is done of the Hydrogen production processes and the discussion of...
