Influence of Parenting Styles on Bullying Behaviour of Pupils in Public Schools in Ajeromi Ifelodun Lgea Of Lagos Educational District

The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. All of the public school students in Lagos State's Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government East Area made up the study population. Out of the 25 public primary schools in the Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government East Area, 10 public primary schools were randomly chosen for the sample, and 70 primary three students were also randomly chosen. A self-designed instrument titled, Parenting Styles Influence on pupils' Bullying Behaviours Questionnaire (PSIPBBQ) was used for the study. The questionnaire had two sections, section A entails demographic information of learners such as gender while Section B had 10 items that entails questions on parenting styles and forms of behaviours that reflect bullying activities. Frequency count of mean, standard deviation and percentage and t-test was employed to analyze the research questions and hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of this study revealed that, oarenting style has a high influence on bullying behaviour of pupils. The study also revealed that, there was no significant difference in the influence of parenting style on pupils' bullying behaviour. This study concluded that, pupils bullying behavior in school, home, or environment can be promoted or enhanced by the style of parenting employed at their homes. Also, both male and female pupils bullying behaviour are significantly influenced in the same way with little or no differences. This recommendation was given among others; Parents should be sensitized on the appropriate parenting style to employ at home as this can significantly influence bullying behaviour of pupils

Examination of Peer Bullying in Primary School Students in Terms of Various Variables

This research was conducted to determine the levels of primary school students' exposure to peer bullying at school and to examine their levels of exposure to bullying in terms of gender, grade level, television watching time, tablet and mobile phone usage time. Descriptive scanning method was used in the research. The study group of the research consists of 282 primary school students studying in a province in the Aegean Region in the 2022-2023 academic year. A personal information form prepared by the researchers and a scale called "Violence/Bullying in Schools" was used as a data collection tools. When the findings were examined, it was seen that 41% of the students were exposed to bullying at school, and the type of bullying behavior they encountered most was verbal bullying. According to the results, in the physical bullying category, pushing, hair and ear pulling; name-calling and teasing in the verbal bullying category; In the emotional bullying category, exclusion and humiliation from the group were found to be more common behaviors among peers. In all types of bullying, male students are more exposed to peer bullying than female students and 4 th grade students are more exposed to peer bullying than other grade levels. While no significant relationship could be detected between the time spent watching television and types of bullying, high positive relationships were detected between the time spent on mobile phones-tablets and types of bullying.

This study aimed to investigate whether communication patterns, peers' involvement and gender different can be the predictors of adolescent bullying behavior. This study involved 193 adolescents of grade 8 and 9 with the most adolescents of 14 years old who had filled in questionnaires. The results showed the prevalence of adolescent involvement in bullying which was 62.69%. Parental communication patterns have an OR = 1.64 (95% CI=0.87-3.09). Peers involvement in bullying behavior (OR=1.92; 95% CI=1.01-3.66). Adolescent girls were more involved in bullying behavior (59.59%) compared to adolescent boys (OR=3.32; 95% CI=1.69-6.54). Poor parental communication patterns, peers influence negatively predict to the bullying behavior in adolescent. Bullying is higher in boys than girls where as boys has a greater chance of bullying than girls. Therefore, bullying intervention programs are needed in schools.

BULLYING BEHAVIOUR OF ADOLESCENTS BASED ON GENDER, GANG AND FAMILY

Introduction: Bullying is a social problem which is part of aggressive violent behavior done continuously and have a negative impact on victims and its subject and happened at school. This study aimed to know the description of knowledge and adolescents behavior about bullying based on their age, gang, and family. Methods: This study used analytic descriptive design with some samples was 246 adolescents from grade 1, 2, 3 of senior high school which used stratified random sampling.Instruments of this study were knowledge questioner and modified The Bullying Prevalence Questionnaire in Guttman and Likert scale. Data analysis used cross tabulation. Result: Data show that adolescents have a good knowledge (93.9%) and less (6.1%). Bullying subjects were 93.9% and victims 94.7%. Forms of verbal bullying indicated the subjects (93.1%) and victims (92.3%). The bullying subjects majority occurred in males (94.1%), and women become victims (96.3%). Numbers of bullying subjects do not have a gang (94.5%), while those with a gang as victims (95.2%). There were five adolescents who live in stepfamilies become subjects and victims of bullying. Conclusion: The majority of adolescents have good knowledge about bullying, bullying form the vast majority were verbal bullying with subjects and victims of bullying who occurs in all classes. The majority of bullying subjects do not have a gang, and as the majority of victims have a gang. Almost all adolescents with different family types become subjects and victims of bullying. Therefore, an intensive educational effort and spiritual needs to be done to change the behavior of adolescents to be adolescents with good character.

Bullying Behavior Among Teenagers at Junior High School Lampung -Indonesia

Background: Cases of bullying in schools are common at this time. In Junior High School (Sekolah Menengah Pertama 2 Muhammadiyah) Bandar Lampung in 2017 has 16 cases of bullying behavior or about 15% of cases.Purpose: Knowing Factors Associated With Bullying Behavior of Junior High School (Sekolah Menengah Pertama 2 Muhammadiyah) Bandar Lampung Year 2018.Methods: Quantitative research using cross sectional. Bullying behavior can result in the growth and development of a child, namely trauma and fear so that children do not want to go to school and experience disruption in the learning process. During the period of 2002-2005 there were 30 suicides which happened to victims of abuse at the age range of 6-15 years. Another impact of abuse behavior in childhood is closely related to antisocial behavior in the future after the child grows into adolescents and adults. This type of research and development. This research was conducted in an elementary school environment in the city of Jambi. The population was 48,043 students and 138 research samples. The results of this study the perpetrators of bullying are mostly done by classmates by 77%. The target of classmates bullying was 73%, the location of the harassment was mostly done in the classroom by 69.6%. The incidence of bullying is low around 45.7% and the incidence of bullying is high at 54.3%. The conclusion is the incidence of bullying with the grade level of elementary school students does not have a significant relationship. The incidence of bullying with gender does not have a significant relationship. The incidence of bullying with the perpetrator or victim has a significant relationship. The Relation of School Environments to Bullying Behaviours Amongst Elementary School Students

The survey findings released in The Cross-cultural Psychology Journal (2017) reported that Indonesia was in the 21st position with a score of 3.62, leaving it far behind its neighbouring country Malaysia (in 11th position globally). This study aims to identify the role of school environment with regards to bullying behaviour amongst elementary school students in Jambi city. A cross-sectional research design was performed with 214 elementary school students at SDN 116/IV Kota Jambi, Indonesia. Purposive sampling was used in this study. The questionnaires by Olweus Bully Questionnaire (OBQ) Goncalves et al. (2016) were used to collect data. Chi-square test was used in this study. The results indicate 112 (52.3%) respondents had mild bullying behaviour and suggest there is a significant relationship between bullying behaviour and the role of the school environment (p-value = 0.001> 0.05).

Analyzing Peer Bullying of 6th, 7th, and 8th Grades Primary School Students from the Aspect of Different Variables in Erzurum

The purpose of this study is to determine the significance of the effects of students ’ peer bullying on variables of academic success and disciplinary status of students at the second stage of the primary schools; and to analyze prediction degree of predictor variables of age and number of siblings regarding peer bullying. The study was conducted with the participation of students studying at 6th, 7th, and 8th grades of primary schools within city center of the Erzurum province and surrounding towns in Turkey. Data of the study were obtained through Bully and Victim Determining Scale-Child Form. The difference was found in favor of the students who are subjected to bullying. Predictor variables of age and number of siblings were found to predict peer bullying scores of students at a significant level.

Observation of peer bullying in Turkish primary schools according to different variables

The purpose of this study was to provide an infrastructure for the preventive studies on peer bullying, discovering the relationships between the bullying in the primary schools in Turkey and different variables. This study is a survey within the context of descriptive method. The research group consisted of randomly selected 504 students, in the fourth and fifth grades of the primary schools in the provincial centre of Trabzon in the first semester of 2009-2010 academic year. 250 of them were fourth grade students, and 254 of them were from fifth grade. Also, 239 of the participants were female while 265 of them are male. The result showed that there was a significant relationship between the attitudes of parents, success and socioeconomic level, order of birth, gender and bullying behavior and its types. The findings obtained in this study were discussed within the frame of literature and some suggestions were proposed to central and local authorities, teachers and parents.
