The Effect of Digital Literacy on Language Ability in Higher Education: Experience From a Developing Country

The digital literacy abilities of several developing countries are already promising. Indonesia is one of them. In fact, in the industrial revolution 4.0 era, students are agents of change to have good digital literacy skills in facing multidimensional challenges and prospects in the future. This research itself focuses on the influence of the existence of digital literacy on Indonesian language skills. Ten Respondents of Institut Technology of Sepuluh Nopember 2021 Urban and Regional Planning Students were sampled to prove this through quantitative research using survey methods and user tests. Respondents with a high duration of using social media to represent digital literacy show high Indonesian language proficiency test results. Meanwhile, respondents with a reasonable period of social media use showed more volatile results due to the influence of several other variables. Overall, a high level of digital literacy can improve one's Indonesian language skills. From this, it can be seen that digital literacy among students is critical in the future, especially in enhancing their Indonesian language skills.

Worldwide, information technology now plays a substantial role in the daily life of most people, whether in the developed world or in developing countries, such as Indonesia. In this fourth most populated country in the world, information technology is widely used for everyday communications and entertainment purposes, as well as for supporting education. Using a survey of 496 students enrolled in a university in Jakarta, this paper reports on a study aimed at assessing the experiences of young Indonesian students undertaking online learning and the potential of this platform for English learning. The findings show that online activities, skills, and perceived usefulness were positively correlated with positive experiences of learning English online. The Development of Digital Age Literacy: A Case Study in Indonesia

This research aims to develop the instrument of feasible and reliable digital-age literacy to be used in the learning process. This needs to be done due to a different region, tribe, and gender involved in this research. The digital-age literacy developed in this research consisting of 8 constructs, including 1) basic literacy, 2) scientific skill, 3) economy skill, 4) information skill, 5) technology skill, 6) visual skill, 7) various cultures skill, and 8) global awareness. As many as 650 respondents were chosen through stratified and random sampling in this survey. Those respondents were students at Universitas Terbuka based on gender and Ethnicity comparison. To see the internal consistency, the data were then analyzed using SPSS 23.00 version for Windows. It was obtained that all questionnaire constructs were valid and reliable, proven by obtaining a high mean reliability value of Cronbach Alpha (0.816 > 0.6), in which each item had a high value (0.778-0.841). Therefore, the number obtained the results proved that this research had produced a quality instrument that can be used to evaluate the students' mastery of the digital-age literacy of the learning process in Universitas Terbukain Asia, especially in Indonesia.

ICT Utilization in Indonesian Language Learning at the Junior High School Level in Buleleng Regency, Bali, Indonesia

The Covid-19 pandemic has made face-to-face learning unable to take place in class. Digital Literacy: A Survey Level Digital Literacy Competence among University Students in Jakarta

Digital Literacy Competence is not yet mastered by the people of Indonesia. Understanding of reading material and the ability to produce positive reading has not been successfully implemented. The purpose of the study was to analyze the influence of parental roles on digital literac y competencies of the students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Mercu Buana. The concept of Interpersonal Communication by DeVito (2013) was used in this study. The role of the family can be classified into four, namely: (1) modeling; (2) mentoring; (3) organizing, and (4) teaching. Through survey methods and data analysis techniques with correlation and impact testing, the results of the study show that the role of parents has an influence on digital literacy competencies. The role o f parents as models, mentors, organizers and instructors in educating and raising their children is highly recognized by their children. Meanwhile, the role of parents has not had a maximum effect on improving student literacy digital competencies.

Students' Digital Literacy Competence and English Study Habits

Digital literacy competence is an excellent choice as it promotes a more exciting and contextual instruction process. This research explores and reveals the students' profile of digital literacy competence and English learning habits. This study surveyed 402 students from Universitas Katolik Indonesia Santu Paulus Ruteng. A questionnaire was used to collect data, which was then quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed. According to the findings, students' digital literacy competence included in the medium category (3,76).
