Handbook for Writing Research Paper
What image comes into mind as we hear the words 'Research Paper': working with stacks of articles and books; hunting the 'treasure' of others' thoughts; preparing research report on the basis of primary or secondary data? Whatever image we create, it's a sure bet that we're envisioning sources of information-articles, books, people, and artworks. Yet a research paper is more than the sum of sources, more than a collection of different pieces of information about a topic, and more than a review of the literature in a field. A research paper analyzes a perspective or argues a point. Regardless of the type of research paper the researcher is writing, the researcher should present his own thinking backed up by others' ideas and information. A research paper involves surveying a field of knowledge in order to find the best possible information in that field and that survey can be orderly and focused. Classification of Paper into one or the other Category Pick the category which most closely describes the paper. Though some papers can fit into more than one category but it is good to assign the paper to one of the categories listed below to facilitate searching within the database: Research Paper: This category covers papers which report on any type of research undertaken by the author(s). The research may involve the construction or testing of a model or framework, action research, testing of data, market research or surveys, empirical, scientific or clinical research.

Research is the gathering of information with the intention to solve a problem/ opportunity which have not been addressed before. It is also a systematic data based on critical and objective and scientific enquiry into a specific problem for the purpose of finding solutions to the problem. Ideally it is a process that aids decision making in business. The research steps are identifying the problem, theory assumption, variables and hypothesis, proposal, literature review, research methodology, presentation and recommendations. However, in this piece of writing attention is focused on areas that should be included in the methodology section of the research proposal. Research methodology is the systematic ,theoretical ,analysis of the method applied to a field of study .Alternatively ,it is a research approach that strategically investigate a problem with which the whole dissertation is concerned .It can be linked to the foundation of a building in construction and, therefore needs to be robust; if it is weak the research will also be weak. Its strength is determined by data collected whether primary or secondary. Data acts as raw materials of the research. Effective data meets the objectives and hypothesis of the research project, hence appropriate methods should be used to gather data. From the above definitions it can be concluded that research methodology is a totality of what is going to be done in the research. There are three methods that can be used to conduct an academic research such as research strategies for example case studies ,surveys, research and experimental design ,research methods for example interviews ,questionnaires ,observations and documentary analysis and data types such as qualitative and quantitative data .Research methodology has got some steps which needs to be taken into consideration which include research design ,target population ,data collection and procedures ,validity and reliability and data presentation and analysis. Zikmund (2005) cited that a research design is a master plan specifying the methods for collecting and analysing the needed information. Another author defines it as a plan, structure and strategy of investigation as conceived as to obtain answers to a research problem. It gives the framework of the research plan of action and the researcher to decide which design to adopt. There are types of research design such as:

INTRODUCTION A research paper is a part of academic writing where there is a gathering of information from different sources. It is multistep process. Selection of title is the most important part of research writing. The title which is interesting should be chosen for the research purpose. All the related information is gathered and the title for research is synthesized. After thorough understanding and developing the title, the preliminary outline is made which maintains the logical path for its exploration. After preliminary research, proper research work is started with collection of previous resources which is then organized and important points are noted. Then research paper is written by referring to outlines, notes, articles, journals and books. The research paper should be well structured containing core parts like introduction, material and methods, results and disscussion and important additional parts like title, abstract, references.

A research paper is a verbal presentation of research finding in reliable and persuasive manner. A researcher has a problem/question or questions on particular subject, area or issue. A research finds the answer to this question. The answer of this question is the finding of the research. A thesis statement is a sentence that includes the finding of the research, the main point of the research paper. The paper clearly states the main point and supports it with reasoning, data, examples and interpretations. The topic of the research paper includes the research area and the perspective of the researcher on it. In other words, it attempts to provide a glimpse of the main point as far as possible. An Overview of Research, Research Paper and Thesis: Evidence From Literature Review
In this study an attempt has been made to answer the questions " What are Research and its types? " What is difference between research paper and article? What is difference between project report, thesis and dissertation? A systematic literature review is undertaken giving an overview of its processes and principles. Research' is a particular type of investigation. It is impossible to do research without having a problem, which is required to be resolved, or a question, which needs to be answered but it is difficult for scholars to select and write topic, statement of purpose and thesis, so the solutions of these are given in this article. The definition and evolution of the approach are described, including the various kinds of research being used today. The research procedure and its nature have been discussed from different scholars' point of view. This article also seeks to organize the scattered knowledge at one point to get research scholars equipped with the latest knowledge. Finally, this study has revealed that research is purposeful and solution-oriented investigation which needs every step properly written. Guidelines given in this study are very clear to help the student to complete their article thesis and dissertation so researchers are advised to follow the guidelines to write quality thesis.
