396 fs pulse from an asynchronous mode-locked erbium fiber laser with 2.5 12 GHz repetition rate (original) (raw)
2008, Microwave and Optical Technology Letters
We have demonstrated an Erbium fiber laser hybridly mode-locked by a phase modulator in conjunction with intracavity soliton effect producing pulses as short as 396 fs at 10 GHz. The laser repetition rate is variable from 2 to 12 GHz keeping pulses with duration shorter than 500 fs in this range. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 48.8 km Ultralong Erbium fiber laser in active mode-locking operation
2010
By the use of installed fibers inside the city we demonstrated a 48.8 km ultralong Erbium-doped fiber laser in modelocking regime with repetition rate varying from 1-10 GHz. The shortest pulse duration of 42 ps at 2.5 GHz was obtained by optimization of intracavity dispersion.
Effect of doped fiber length on the stretch pulses of a mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser
Laser Physics, 2012
A passively self-starting mode-locked fiber ring laser is demonstrated using a highly concentrated Erbium doped fiber (EDF) with a saturable absorber. The effect of EDF length on the performance of the laser is investigated. Stable stretched pulses are obtained at wavelength region of 1560nm with a repetition rate ranging from 10.1 to 12.1 MHz and a pulse width stretching from 0.52 to 0.75 ps as the EDF length is reduced from 4.5 to 1.5 m. The repetition rate goes higher as the cavity length decreases when a shorter EDF is used but the pulse width reduces as the EDF length increases since the total group velocity dispersion (GVD) in the cavity is close to zero. © Pleiades Publishing, Ltd., 2012. http://link.springer.com/article/10.1134/S1054660X12070134
