In Vitro Antioxidant and Anti-HIV Activity of Endophytic Coumarin from Crotalaria pallida Aiton (original) (raw)

Comparative study of in vitro antioxidant activity of foliar endophytic fungi and leaves extracts of Peganum harmala of Dayate aiat (Laghouat, Algeria)

Journal of Fundamental and Applied Sciences, 2018

Endophytic fungi that reside in plant tissues are a potential source of secondary metabolites with biological activities. In our study, we investigated the detection of the antioxidant activity of the crude fungal extract of the genera Cladosporium, Alternaria, Aspergillus and Penicillium: endophytic fungi isolated from the leaves of Peganum harmala harvested in Laghouat and extract of these same leaves. The extraction of these metabolites was carried out using ethyl acetate. The antioxidant activity of the latter was carried out by the DPPH test. Our tests reveal that the extracts studied have a low antioxidant activity. The inhibitory concentrations show a higher antioxidant effect for the Penicillium extract compared to the other extracts studied. The antioxidant molecules are related to the content of polyphenols. Penicillium extract has the highest polyphenol content. Our results confirm that endophytic fungi are a potential and limited source of natural antioxidant compounds, in the same way as plants.

International Journal of Innovation and Applied Studies, 2020

The essential oil of Mondia whitei dry roots (Hook, f.) Skeels, harvested at Kindamba, in the Pool Department, south of Congo Brazzaville was extracted by hydrodistillation with a yield of 0.50%. Gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC / MS) were used to characterize the chemical profile of the gas chromatography, then it was subjected to physicochemical analyzes. The physical and chemical properties evaluated were the refractive index and the acid number. The values of the refractive index in ether and in acetone are respectively 1.3703 and 1.3713 that of the determined acid number is zero. Taking into account the high proportion of 2-hydroxy-4-methoxy-benzaldehyde (99.85%), this oil could be a source of production of 2-hydroxy-4-methoxy-benzaldehyde useful for agri-food needs and a formulation necessary for Pharmaceutical industry.

Phytochemical and Antioxidant Investigations of Five Ivoirian Medicinal Plants Used Against Dental Caries

International Journal of Innovation and Applied Studies, 2018

The phytochemical investigation carried out on five medicinal plants of Ivory Coast, used in the traditional treatment of the tooth decay first focused on the research of their chemical composition. The latter has resulted in the demonstration of several biomolecules (sterols, flavonoids, tannins, etc.), which have signed a good antioxidant profile. In a second time, it was devoted to the quantification of certain phytophenols. The results of this work indicated variable and significant levels overall. The stems of Ximenia americana exhibited the best antioxidant activity, which activity is dependent on its total phenolic compound rich (8802.94 ± 298.54 μgEAG / g), total flavonoids (18.39 ± 0.87%) and condensed tannins (99,369 ± 1,485 μgECT / mg).

International Journal of Biological and Chemical Sciences, 2023
