Data Security Issues in Cloud Computing
Open Journal of Mobile Computing and Cloud Computing, 2014
As we are familiar that the cloud computing field is very vast and also its one of the potential field. It also has many advantages over the other storing fields. This is the only reason that the data is being migrating from the local storages to the public or the hybrid clouds. Due to some of the drawbacks the large enterprises or the critical data of the organizations are not moved to the cloud. The actual size of the cloud is much more and effective than we expect it. The data owners i.e. the cloud consumers need a high level of security regarding their data and the privacy concerns are also there. This is one of the issue that many consumers are not moving towards the cloud computing services. In this paper short but and effective analysis on the data security and privacy protection part is provided which is concerned with the data life cycle in cloud computing. The further part consists of the present work in this area. Finally the future work and the conclusion of this topic.
Cloud Computing and Security Issues
Cloud computing has become one of the most interesting topics in the IT world today. Cloud model of computing as a resource has changed the landscape of computing as it promises of increased greater reliability, massive scalability, and decreased costs have attracted businesses and individuals alike. It adds capabilities to Information Technology's. Over the last few years, cloud computing has grown considerably in Information Technology. As more and more information of individuals and companies are placed in the cloud, there is a growing concern about the safety of information. Many Companies that are considered to be giants in software industry like Microsoft are joining to develop Cloud services [1]. Despite the hype about the cloud, customers are reluctant to deploy their business in the cloud. Security issues is one of the biggest concerns that has been affecting the growth of cloud computing .It adds complications with data privacy and data protection continues to affect the market. Users need to understand the risk of data breaches in the cloud environment. The paper highlights issues related to cloud computing.
Cloud Computing Security Issues of Sensitive Data: An Analysis
Numerous organizations are using aspects of the cloud to store data, but as sensitive data is placed on the cloud, privacy and security become difficult to maintain. When users upload data to the cloud, they may become increasingly vulnerable to account hijacking, unauthorized access, and the data may become unavailable because of various technical reasons. Questions remain about the security of sensitive data in the cloud, and in this chapter, the authors perform an analysis of 36 peer reviewed publications describing 30 observations of cloud computing technology (2010-2017). In the articles, applications of cloud computing include, for instance, business (26%) and the internet of things (IoT; 2%), and the result suggests that some issues are unique to a particular domain (such as business, education, health) and some issues cross all domains. The results suggest that data integrity issues have the highest number of solutions whereas data breaches have the lowest number of solutions.
Cloud Computing: An Overview of Data Security Issues
Communications on Applied Electronics, 2016
Cloud computing can be explained as a technology that enables user access to computing services over a network, different technologies have been existing over the years bearing a canny resemblance to what is termed "Cloud Computing" today, and these technologies have helped to shape its functionalities. Security is a fundamental factor that affects each and every field of study of which cloud computing is not exempted. Delivering computing resources over a network usually the Internet, creates problems associated with protecting information from unauthorized and malicious persons. The implementation of the cloud for infrastructure provides facilities such as data storage, servers and operating systems, which could result in unauthorized access to important information on the cloud. This can lead to data manipulation, data loss and breach of privacy. This paper provides an insight into the field of cloud computing, with discussions on issues related to data security.
Cloud Computing and Implication of Data Security
Proceedings of the 17th LACCEI International Multi-Conference for Engineering, Education, and Technology: “Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure for Sustainable Cities and Communities”, 2019
Cloud Computing is one of the most important advancements in technology since the invention of the Personal Computers. Cloud Computing refers to manipulating, configuring and accessing the applications via the Internet and provides various kinds of services to its users. One of the principal concerns of Cloud Computing is security "How secure is a cloud computing environment?"-Security is then one of the parameters that need to be tackled deeper before enterprises embrace this popular technology to a greater degree. With the cloud technology paradigm enterprise data are stored at a remote location and must be assured that is safe and be available at any time. Our effort is to report security feature results of our evaluation carried out on Public, Private, Community and Hybrid Cloud Computing; which includes differences between their services, architecture, deployment and development of services and the way to mitigate those security risks and issues.
Risks & Solutions for Data Security in Cloud Computing
Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research), 2022
The safety of one's data when using cloud computing is the topic of this research. It is an investigation into the data stored in the cloud as well as the various issues of data security that are connected to it. In this paper, we will go into the specifics of data protection methods and approaches that are utilized in different parts of the world to provide the highest level of data protection possible by minimizing potential dangers and hazards. The availability of data in the cloud is advantageous for a wide variety of applications, but it also presents hazards because it exposes data to applications that may already contain vulnerabilities in their security protocols. In a similar vein, the utilization of virtualization for cloud computing may put data at risk when a guest operating system is run atop a hypervisor without first determining the dependability of the guest operating system, which may contain a security flaw. In addition to this, the paper will shed light on the various facets of data security that pertain to data both while it is in transit and when it is stored. The research considers all aspects of Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) (Infrastructure as a Service).
Towards Analyzing Data Security Risks in Cloud Computing Environments
There is a growing trend of using cloud environments for ever growing storage and data processing needs. However, adopting a cloud computing paradigm may have positive as well as negative effects on the data security of service consumers. This paper primarily aims to highlight the major security issues existing in current cloud computing environments. We carry out a survey to investigate the security mechanisms that are enforced by major cloud service providers. We also propose a risk analysis approach that can be used by a prospective cloud service for analyzing the data security risks before putting his confidential data into a cloud computing environment.
Data Security Issues in Cloud Computing: Review
International Journal of Software Engineering and Computer Systems
Cloud computing is an internet based model that empower on demand ease of access and pay for the usage of each access to shared pool of networks. It is yet another innovation that fulfills a client's necessity for computing resources like systems, stockpiling, servers, administrations and applications. Securing the Data is considered one of the principle significant challenges and concerns for cloud computing. This persistent problem is getting more affective due to the changes in improving cloud computing technology. From the perspective of the Clients, cloud computing is a security hazard especially when it comes to assurance affirmation issues and data security, remain the most basically which backs off for appropriation of Cloud Computing administrations. This paper audits and breaks down the essential issue of cloud computing and depicts the information security and protection of privacy issues in cloud.
The Study of Data Security in Cloud Computing
European Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EJECE), 2020
Cloud computing holds the possibility to annihilate the needs for setting up of costly computing infrastructure for IT-based services and proffering IT Solutions. It offers an adaptable IT architecture which is accessible via the internet for lightweight and hand-held compact gadgets. The concept has encouraged numerous folds to improve in the capacity or capabilities of the existing and new software. In the cloud computing environment, the whole data/information is available over a set of networked resources, empowering the information to be accessible via virtual machines. Considering the fact that the cloud computing server may be located in any part of the world beyond the reach and control of users, there are various security issues and privacy challenges that need to be clearly understood with a view to identifying how to mitigate them. Likewise, there are possibilities of the imminent breakdown of servers which have been witnessed in recent times. This research addresses the security issues connected with cloud computing, provides analysis of the militating factors against the successful implementation of cloud computing and proffers useful recommendations on how to ameliorate identified issues.
