Abstract

The article seeks to analyze the possible relationship between strategic thinking and strategic planning, observing your thinking and acting in organizations. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the strategic thinking as a continuous process, which gives life to the organization. This process builds and develops knowledge and strategic actions that favor the exchange of ideas, perfect dialogues and strengthens relations between individuals. By bringing strategic thinking to the discussion of communication, it is revealed that the initiative of individuals and the dynamics of the organization are essential ingredients for that strategic thinking is a practice of organizational routine, which makes it a value for people in the organization. Quantitative and qualitative research are adopted as instruments, using a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews, respectively. The main quantitative results indicate the strategy formulation from a strategic planning, being restricted to planning strategic thinking. In turn, reveals the qualitative approach the practice of strategic thinking in organizations and a concern with the strategic direction in building the institutional image.
