STUDIES ON STRENGTH BEHAVIOR OF HIGH VOLUMES OF SLAG CONCRETE (original) (raw)

The Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) is a waste of industrial material. It is relatively more recent pozzolanic material that has received considerable attention in both research and application. It is now recognized as a desirable cementitious ingredient of concrete. This research study presents the study of behavior of high volumes of slag concrete. The influence of slag content on Compressive strength, Split tensile strength and Flexural strength of High volumes of slag concrete (Cement : GGBFS is 50:50) specimens of different water-binder ratios are investigated for 28 Days, 90 Days,180 Days and 360 Days. Different waterbinder ratios ranging from 0.55 to 0.27are considered for investigation. From the results, the relationship is developed between Compressive Strength, Split Tensile strength and Flexural Strength of High Volumes of Slag Concrete.
