A polynomial invariant of oriented links (original) (raw)
This paper presents a new polynomial invariant for oriented links in knot theory. Traditional invariants, such as the Alexander polynomial, have proven useful but can be complex to compute and apply in practical scenarios. The authors explore a simpler polynomial invariant, define it in the context of oriented links, and illustrate its effectiveness in distinguishing between different link types through calculations related to linking numbers and coefficients derived from the diagrammatic representation of the links.
