Does video conferencing contribute to effective meetings with remote teams? (original) (raw)
Meetings are a frequent and time-intensive activity in organizational life, often deemed ineffective, particularly within remote teams. This research investigates the conditions contributing to effective meetings in the Netherlands and explores the potential benefits of video conferencing (VC) for remote teams. Through qualitative and quantitative surveys among sales and service teams, findings reveal that VC is not commonly utilized, primarily due to resistance stemming from lack of knowledge and experience. The study concludes that incorporating VC can enhance perceived meeting effectiveness and organizational success, offering practical recommendations for its implementation.
