Abstract

The work of Italian historian Enzo Traverso has always been a source of attention and interest for a journal such as Con-Ciencia Social, which is interested in the criticism of culture and institutions where the selective dissemination and appropriation of knowledge takes place. In the course of this conversation, Traverso tackles a wide range of subjects that are very much present in his prolific and committed career as a social scientist: we talk about Memory and History, the construction and role of intellectuals, historiographic revisionism and public uses of the past, historical education, but above all we reflect on the present, melancholy and the need for utopia.
