Cultural Features of Verbal Expressions in English and Uzbek Communication

This article is devoted to the study of cultural features of English and Uzbek communication. As these two languages belong to totally different different language families, they both also differ in terms of culture. The aim of this research paper is to identify and analyze similar as well as distinguishing features of both English and Uzbek culture and the use of verbal expressions in both culture. The object of this article is verbal expressions, whilst the subject matter is cultural features of English and Uzbek verbal expressions in communication. The results of the analyses are illustrated with a number of examples in English and Uzbek.

Sociolinguistic Principles of the Use of English in the Language Activity of the Population of Uzbekistan

The aim of the paper is to analyze the spread of the English language in Uzbekistan, its place in communicative relations in various socio-economic spheres, sociolinguistic and pragmatic status of English in Uzbekistan. Article addresses sociolinguistic principles of the use of English in the language activity of the population of Uzbekistan, by defining sociolinguistic and pragmatic features of the communicative role of the English language introduced in Uzbekistan, in order to determine the perspectives for its formation. In particular, the article establishes that citizens of the country use English as an international language of communication, it performs a communicative function, and Uzbek serves as a source of knowledge and retains its cognitive function. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Turkic republics began to show themselves in the international arena as separate independent states. The newly independent republics began to open up to the world and establish relations in all fields in economy, science, art, sports. The common language of communication spoken by Turkic peoples and communities was the most important issues that attracted the main attention in these meetings. In high-level meetings, the fact that the participants communicated in different dialects of the language formed in the same historical period in some cases caused certain difficulties and disagreements. Historically, Turks actually spoke various dialects of common origin. Ideas about language and alphabet have always been the number one topic of discussion at the meetings held at a high level. In these meetings, the issues of whether a common alphabet union could be established among the Turkish peoples, and whether a common written language and communication language could be formed were constantly being discussed in these meetings and solutions were sought. Today, Turkic people need a common language of communication in order to establish scientific, economic and political relations at the highest level in the globalizing world. Turkey Turkish has now paved the way for the states and communities in which Turks live. Today, the Republic of Turkey establishes high-level relations with Turkic-speaking countries in the fields of civil, economic and education. So, Turkey Turkish has now paved the way for Turkic geography. Turkey Turkish should or can mediate for a common spoken language between Turkic people. But we should also say that Turkic has minor problems within itself. If Turkey Turkish wants to take the responsibility of being the common language of communication among Turkic peoples, then it can reveal minor problems in Turkic.

Uzbek Culture-Bound Expressions and Their Translations Into English

This article is devoted to the translation problems of culture-bound words and expressions from the Uzbek language into the English language. Such words and expressions create difficulties for the translator. It is very challenging to find a suitable equivalent from the target language. Translation occurs as a result of human activity that allows people to exchange ideas and opinions, regardless of their different languages and cultures. Translation is a kind of cross-linguistic, cross-cultural and cross-social communication. As a kind of communication, the main purpose is nothing but to establish equivalence between the source text and the target text. In other words, as the receiver of the source message and the sender of the target message, the translator should try his best to convey all the contents of the source text into the target text, otherwise, translation as a kind of communication would end in failure

Modern man is subject to the influence of the media, forming the world picture in his mind − his values, worldview, attitudes, concepts etc. This is especially noticeable on the linguistic level, when people who know the native language, in the process of intercultural communication is influenced by another language. This article analyzes the role of language as a fundamental issue in the understanding of ethno-cultural identity of the Dungans, one of the special Diasporas in Uzbekistan. The national language has always been relevant, especially in a small number of nations. That is why national language is considered as the most important issue in a small number of nations compared to other nations. Among these few nationalities, the Dungans of Uzbekistan are also trying to preserve their national language. Today's problems of the Dungans of Uzbekistan related to the national language and the scientific basis of their solution are also described in this article.

The Development of Linguistics in Kazakhstan: New Approaches and Modern Tendencies

The article represents an overview of some of the research priorities of Kazakhstani scientists who study the linguistic, socio-linguistic, and methodical parameters of scientific description of a language as a social fact. We describe the language situation in Kazakhstan, which creates a scientific background for theoretical and practical understanding of the language changes taking place in the country. The article shows that the common methodological basis of research is a systemic approach to the problem of multilingual space of Kazakhstan, in which different aspects of this complex phenomenon are consistently and purposefully studied from the standpoint of the theoretical provisions on the relationship of language and society. The sociolinguistic studies focus on the identification of the nature and role of languages in ethnocultural interaction. This way this research provides essential information for the timely adjustment of the language policy and language planning and is useful for management tasks in the field of language regulation.
