Cutworm Moths (original) (raw)
690 C Cabbage Maggot or Cabbage Root Fly, Delia radicum (Linnaeus) (Diptera: Anthomyiidae) Blacklight traps and pheromone traps have been used in an attempt to predict looper population densities. Pheromone releasers and blacklight traps can be combined to increase moth catches. Insecticide resistance has become a problem in cabbage looper control, but susceptibility varies widely among populations. Bacillus thuringiensis has long been used for effective suppression of cabbage looper, and has the advantage of not disrupting populations of beneficial insects.
