Composites are one of the most widely used materials because of their adaptability to different situations and the relative ease of combination with other materials to serve specific purposes and exhibit desirable properties. Various composites like metal matrix composites, nano composites, fiber reinforced composites and hybrid composites are commonly used in various industries. Hybrid composite and metal matrix composites materials have extensive engineering application where strength to weight ratio, low cost and ease of fabrication are required. The investigation of the novel applications of hybrid composites has been of deep interest to the researchers for many years as evident from reports. This paper presents a study on the applications of hybrid composites in different types of industries like automobile a industry, aviation industry, structural applications, orthopedics aids and some other applications because of their advanced properties. Some recently developed hybrid composites and their mechanical properties and applications also discussed in this paper.
