The population in this study was all students in SMP Negeri Urumb Merauke. Data analysis used descriptive statistics to describe the types of student learning styles and correlation coefficient inferential statistics of Eta test to determine whether there is the influence of learning styles on students' mathematics learning outcomes. The results obtained are students in SMP Negeri Urumb have diverse learning styles, those are 24.49% of visual learning style, 53.06% of auditory learning style, and 22.45% of kinesthetic learning style. Analysis using Eta test obtained is influence of learning styles on mathematics learning outcomes.
Learning Style of Secondary School Students in relation to Achievement in Mathematic
International Journal of Scientific Development and Research (IJSDR), 2023
The present study was conducted in Prayagraj district to find out the learning style of urban and rural students and to know if there is any significant relationship in achievement in mathematics and learning style of secondary school students. A total of 600 urban and rural students were selected from various schools of Prayagraj District. A selfconstructed tool for achievement in mathematics and Learning Style Inventory tool by K.S. Mishra (2012) was used to conduct the study. The study shows a significant relationship in the learning style of urban and rural students and further concluded that there is significant relationship between achievement in mathematics and learning style of urban and rural secondary school students.
Learning Style and Mathematics Achievement among High Performance School Students
This study was conducted to determine learning style and mathematics achievement among High Performance School (HPS) students. 362 form four students were selected to be the respondents of the study. Using survey method, a set of questionnaire which has two parts of A and B. Part A is designed for demographic factors on respondent's profile and part B is the Index of Learning Style (ILS) which has 44 items. The ILS has four dimensions that include active and reflective, concrete and intuitive, visual and verbal as well as Sequential and global. While the achievement test was based on the respondents' final year examination grade. The collected data was being processed by SPPS version 20.0 which has shown that the value of Cronbach Apha for the pilot study was 0.895 for ILS.The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics including t-test and Pearson correlation. The findings revealed that most students tend balance learning style among active, concrete, visua, Sequential and gobal. Furthermore, there is a significance difference between learning style of visual, verbal, Sequential and global based on gender. In addition, there exist a relationship between active and reflective learning style and mathematics achievement.

The poor academic achievement and negative attitude of learners towards Mathematics are not only influenced by teaching styles but the learning styles as well. In other words, the mismatches between teaching and learning styles have a way of raising its ugly head in affecting effective classroom interaction and hence leads to poor performance in Mathematics. Therefore, this study investigated the correlation between learning styles and Grade 6 Mathematics performance. The study adopted correlational research design of quantitative approach. The target population for this study are Grade 6 learners in Buffalo City education district. Stratified sampling was used to select 1225 Grade 6 learners. The finding shows that Grade 6 learners with visual learning style ( = 13.242, SD = 5.565) had the best performance in Mathematics at Buffalo City, followed by learners with auditory learning style ( = 12.996, SD = 3.883), and learners with Kinaesthetic learning style ( = 11.525, SD =3.800). Learning process has been one of the important aspects of human life. Student's learning styles are among the acquired factors. Based on their individual differences, different students use different learning styles for their learning. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the study of learning styles among high school students and its relationship with educational achievement. The statistical population under investigation included girl's high school students in the city of Ilam, Iran in the school year of 2014. The statistical population was consisted of 3958 students. The sample group was selected by the stratified random sampling method based on Morgan's table and through multiple-steps sampling. In order to assess the learning styles, the online questionnaire for learning styles, by Felder and Solomon is used. Collected data analyzed using SPSS software. According to correlation coefficients, among students in experiential field, there is a positive significant relationship between students learning styles who use Visual-Verbal learning style and their score means and among students in mathematics field, there is a positive significant relationship between students learning styles who use Active-Reflective and Visual-Verbal learning style and their score mean. In humanities field, there is no significant relationship between the students learning styles that use Sequential-Global, Visual-Verbal and Sensing-Intuitive learning styles and their score means. The Kruskal-Wallis test shown that there is a significant difference between humanities students score means with mathematics and experiential students that have Active-Reflective learning style. There is a significant difference between score means of grade two students in all fields in Active-Reflective and Visual-Verbal learning styles and similarly in grade three students in all fields in Active-Reflective and Sequential-Global learning styles.

Students'achievement in Mathematics is very influential for achieving success in all other subjects. Mathematics is having its application in almost all other disciplines. Mathematics is used all over the world as an essential tool in natural science, social science, engineering, medicine, etc. As Mathematics is abstract and it needs skills to understand and logical reasoning to solve problems which all individuals may not possess and it can become the hurdle in achieving their goals. The present study helps us to find out the different Mathematical abilities which are essential for achievement in Mathematics. One such ability is learning styles of students. Individual's learning styles plays an important role in achievement in various subjects at the school and postgraduate level. The knowledge of students' learning styles would help the teachers and counselors to select appropriate teaching techniques. The purpose of the study was to find out the relationship between learning styles of students and achievement in Mathematics in postgraduate course under the University of Mysore. The sample selected for the study consists of 80 postgraduate students who were pursuing M.Sc Mathematics by using simple random sampling technique. The study followed survey method under educational research. Learning styles inventory of Kolb by Peter Honey and Alan Mumford (2006) which categorizes the learning styles of students under four categories, namely activists, reflectors, theorists and pragmatist learning styles was used for assessing the learning styles and analyzing its influence on classroom teaching learning process. The findings of the study reveals that the learning styles of students vary and majority of students are reflectors, followed by pragmatist, theorist and activists were few. The analysis of the data further reveals that male and female students do not differ in their learning styles, and there is a high correlation between the learning styles and achievement in Mathematics of postgraduate students. This study implies that students will have various styles and multi-faced approach in learning. This has to be understood by the teachers and other practitioners to improve the students learning Process as well as to improve the quality of Education.
The Influence of Learning Styles on Mathematical Performance among Junior High School Students
Macrothink Institute, 2024
Learning styles are different approaches individuals prefer for acquiring knowledge and information. This study examines the influence and relationship between learning styles and mathematical performance among junior high school students at Tolotolo National High School. By identifying and recognizing students' preferred learning styles, educators can better understand and meet students' learning needs. The research aims to identify the dominant learning style among students and its correlation with mathematical performance. Results show that students at Tolotolo National High School predominantly prefer auditory learning. However, the study found no significant correlation between auditory learning and mathematical performance. Interestingly, a significant relationship was found between kinesthetic learning styles and higher academic achievement in Mathematics with a significance score of 0.001. These findings suggest that while auditory learning is prevalent, kinesthetic learning plays a role in academic success. These insights contribute to developing effective teaching strategies and styles that encourage students to become more successful academically.

This study explored the relationship between mathematics performance and learning styles among Grade 8 students in the Philippines. The study used a descriptive correlation research design to achieve its objectives, which included determining the profile of Grade 8 students, identifying their learning styles, and examining the relationship between mathematics performance and age, gender, and learning styles. The data was collected through an adapted questionnaire from David Kolb's learning style inventory. The findings revealed no significant relationship between learning styles and academic performance in mathematics. However, it is worth noting that the lack of a significant relationship does not necessarily mean that there is no relationship at all. Motivation, teacher quality, and cultural background may also influence mathematics performance. The findings suggest that educators should consider students' different learning styles when developing effective teaching strate...
