Medicinal plants are extensively used in traditional folk medicine. High blood pressure is associated with the risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and many other serious health complications resulting from it as a major concern of morbidity and mortality in health sector. Use of diuretics, angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, beta adrenergic receptor antagonists (beta blockers), alpha adrenergic receptor antagonists (alpha blockers), calcium channel blockers (CCBs) etc. are not efficient enough to cure hypertension. Side effects regarding these medications lead to intolerance, impaired control of the disease, and also mismanagement of therapy. So, approach regarding quenching new potent therapeutic compounds from medicinal plants draws attention nowadays. For example, as a first-line therapeutic agent, an alkaloid is highly effective in lowering systolic blood pressure which is isolated from root extract of the plant of Rauwolfia serpentina species, namely reserpine. This article comes up with a list of 63 plant species from 37 families, compiling information related to plant parts used for making extracts, types of extract and animals used in these studies, antihypertensive effect of the extracts etc. It also refers to 74 chemically defined molecules, with in vitro and in vivo anti-hypertensive potential, isolated from these extracts along with their dosage and mechanism of action by using electronic searches of published articles from various databases and reference books. Our present work would be beneficial for researchers to investigate and invent novel antihypertensive therapy to treat hypertension.
ROLE OF HERBAL PRODUCTS IN MANANGEMENT OF HYPERTENSION
The medical term for elevated blood pressure is hypertension (HTN). It is risky because it puts too much strain on the heart and causes atherosclerosis, which is the hardening of the arteries, in addition to raising the risk of heart disease and stroke. Other diseases including congestive heart failure, renal disease, and blindness can also be brought on by HTN. Traditional antihypertensives frequently have a number of adverse effects. Due to its superior tolerance by the human body and fewer adverse effects, around 75-80% of the world's population uses herbal medicines for primary healthcare, primarily in impoverished nations. Research on native plants with hypotensive and antihypertensive therapeutic benefits has received a lot of focus during the past three decades. Research on indigenous plants with hypotensive and antihypertensive therapeutic benefits has received a lot of focused attention. Some of these medicinal plants' hypotensive and antihypertensive properties have been shown effective, while others have been found to be ineffective. To validate the efficacy and clarify the safety profile of such herbal treatments for their antihypertensive potential, additional scientific study must be conducted in conjunction with contemporary medicine and ayurveda expertise.

Hypertension is a critical health problem and worse other cardiovascular diseases. It is mainly of two types: Primary or essential hypertension and Secondary hypertension. Hypertension is the primary possibility feature for coronary heart disease, stroke and renal vascular disease. Herbal medicines have been used for millions of years for the management and treatment of hypertension with minimum side effects. Over aim to write this review is to collect information on the anti-hypertensive effects of natural herbs in animal studies and human involvement as well as to recapitulate the underlying mechanisms, from the bottom of cell culture and ex-vivo tissue data. According to WHO, natural herbs/shrubs are widely used in increasing order to treat almost all the ailments of the human body. Plants are the regular industrial units for the invention of chemical constituents, they used as immunity booster to enhance the natural capacity of the body to fight against different health problems as well as herbal medicines and food products also. Eighty percent population of the world (around 5.6 billion people) consume medicines from natural plants for major health concerns. Hypertension and herbal plant for its treatment: a review
Hypertension is a chronic disorder characterized by a persistently elevated blood pressure exceeding 140/90 mmHg or greater. Many antihypertensive agents are used for treatment of hypertension like Thiazide, loop, and potassium-sparing diuretics, Calcium antagonists Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, Central α2-adrenergic agonists, β-adrenergic and α1/β-adrenergic antagonists, Peripheral α1-adrenergic antagonists, Peripheral adrenergic neuronal blocking agents, Central/peripheral adrenergic neuronal-blocking agent, Direct-acting vasodilators etc. But these drugs have some side effects like diuretics may cause muscle cramps, dizziness, extreme tiredness, dehydration, blurred vision, abnormal heart rate, skin rash, and others. Side effects caused by ACE inhibitors are cough, skin rash, vomiting, kidney failure, fever, sore throat, diarrhea, and others. Side effects come with the use of calcium channel blockers are fatigue, headache, diarrhea, constipation, skin rash, edema, and others. The use of medicinal plants for treatment of hypertension is very common because these remedies are easily available and low cost than novel pharmaceuticals. Herbs do not cause side effects like weakness, tiredness, drowsiness, impotence, cold hands and feet, depression, insomnia, abnormal heartbeats, skin rash, dry mouth, dry cough, stuffy nose, headache, dizziness, swelling around eyes, constipation or diarrhea, fever etc. Hence the present article focuses on different medicinal plants worldwide used for hypertension rather than on medications. The present literature emphasizes on causes for hypertension, its signs, symptoms, preventive measures as well as its safer options of treatments.

About 75 to 80% of the world population use herbal medicines, mainly in developing countries, for primary health care because of their better acceptability with human body and lesser side effects. In the last three decades, a lot of concerted efforts have been channeled into researching the local plants with hypotensive and antihypertensive therapeutic values. The hypotensive and antihypertensive effects of some of these medicinal plants have been validated and others disproved. However, ayurvedic knowledge needs to be coupled with modern medicine and more scientific research needs to be done to verify the effectiveness, and elucidate the safety profile of such herbal remedies for their antihypertensive potential.

Hypertension or high blood pressure (BP) is a chronic medical condition and is a worldwide epidemic. High percentage of the world hypertensive population use herbal medicines, for primary health care because of their low cost, better acceptability and lesser side effects. Naturally occurring medicinal plants, herbs having antihypertensive potential, so, several ethnobotanical studies performed in different parts of world showed that hundreds of plants are used worldwide for empirical hypertension treatment. This work, provides basic knowledge from medicinal plants used for high blood pressure treatment, to support future pharmacological and phytochemical investigation.

Hypertension has become one of the most principal growing health problems in developing countries, and is an important cause of cardiovascular death in the world. It is also called the silent killer as it usually shows no direct symptoms and many people die of the disease without understanding its. Despite their availability and effectiveness, the conventional drugs used for the treatment of hypertension have caused adverse side effects and increased the risks of developing new diseases. Herbal medicines, therefore, are gaining great demand and more importance in the treatment of hypertension because of their wide biological and medicinal activities, higher safety margins and lesser cost. Accordingly this review article mainly focuses on medicinal plants used for the management of hypertension in Ethiopia and provides a list of sixty six anti-hypertensive plants obtained from various sources. Furthermore, the review briefly describes the photochemistry and pharmacological properties of Moringa stenopetala, Thymus serrulatus, Thymus schimperi, Syzygium guineense and Calpurnea aurea. The purpose of this review is to create baseline data for future pharmacological and phytochemical investigations involving traditional medicinal plants used for treating hypertension and to preserve the traditional knowledge.

Review Article This review article aims to find information about medicinal plants used to lower blood pressure (antihypertensives). The way to collect data is by using Google Scholar. The keywords used to find information were medicinal plants, antihypertensives, and phytochemicals. The results obtained from tracing information indicate that in the last 20 years of research, there were 21 medicinal plants used as antihypertensive drugs. These medicinal plants are that have antihypertensive properties contain the most flavonoids. We can be developed these plants into Phyto-Pharmaca for antihypertensive drugs.
