This paper discusses the implementation of an Interactive Multimedia Learning Courseware (IMLC) in enhancing the learning of biology among Matriculation students in Malaysia. A qualitative method using unstructured interviews and observation has been selected as a technique for gathering information in order to identify the current problem faced by students with regard to succeeding in biology, and the need for any new instructional strategies. Ten respondents of varying academic ability were identified from two Matriculation colleges to participate in this interview. The findings of this preliminary investigation confirm that current Matriculation students do face problems in the learning of biology. The results reveal that there is a lack of good quality learning materials for them to depend on. In addition, limited time for revision and for exploring each topic is also a problem which will have to be solved to enhance their performance in the subject of biology. In conclusion, the implementation of IMLC with different learning strategies needs to be designed and developed to facilitate and enhance the learning ability of students in terms of the subject of biology.

Development of Interactive E-Modules (e-MI) through The Canva App in Biology Learning
Proceedings of the 2nd Universitas Kuningan International Conference on System, Engineering, and Technology, UNISET 2021, 2 December 2021, Kuningan, West Java, Indonesia
This study aims to produce an interactive e-module (e-MI) on carbohydrate material biochemistry course with good validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The research method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) with ADDIE approach design (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The results of this study are e-MI products based on the validation results of content experts by 84.25% and media experts by 77.98%, showing valid criteria in the aspects of content feasibility and practicality. While the results of user trials of 81.34% indicate practical criteria in the practical aspect of using interactive e-modules (e-MI), and a percentage of 82.65% shows very effective criteria in terms of the effectiveness of using e-MI. So the results of this study recommend using this interactive e-module (e-MI) for learning activities, especially in the Biochemistry course of carbohydrate material.
EFFECT OF E-CONTENT ON TEACHING BIOLOGY AT SECONDARY LEVEL
This study aimed to find out the effect of e-content on the achievement of nineth standard students in their biology subject. The sample consisted of 60 students with 30 students in the control group and experimental group respectively. The data were collected and analyzed with't' test. The finding was the achievement scores of the experimental group students were higher than the control group students. So it was concluded that e-content learning material was an effective tool.
Development of interactive e-books in tissue culture learning for class xi science
Biosfer
The learning media used in schools is in the form of books. In addition, the media used by schools contains material that is not yet specific and not yet interactive, so it is necessary to develop media that suits needs, such as interactive e-books. This study aims to produce an interactive e-book learning media on the tissue culture sub-material on the structure and function of tissues in plants that are valid. This development research uses the ADDIE development model whose implementation reaches the third stage, namely Analysis, Design, and Development. This interactive e-book was created using the Flip PDF Corporate Edition application. The sampling technique used in this research is random sampling. The sample used in the study was 45 students of class XI IPA SMA. The data collection instruments used were validation sheets and validated student response questionnaires. Data collection was carried out using student and teacher response questionnaires. Product validation uses val...
Research and Development in Medical Education, 2016
Introduction: This study aims to design and produce electronic content of a microbiology course for students in AJA (Islamic Republic of Iran Army) University of Medical Sciences based on Gagne's instructional design model and determine its effectiveness. Methods: This is a quasi-experimental study. All medical students studying in the 2014-2015 academic year in AJA University of Medical Sciences who had taken the microbiology course were entered in the study. Students were divided randomly into two groups, control and trial (16 subjects in each). After designing and producing the educational multimedia, the trial group was trained in concepts of the microbiology course using multimedia educational software during 6 sessions over 6 continuous weeks. Finally, they were given post-test questions to determine the educational progress level among the students. Results: The mean ± standard deviation (SD) for pre-test and post-test in the trial group were 4.44 ± 1.99 and 12.75 ± 1.06, respectively, and in the control group they were 3.75 ± 2.32 and 9.31 ± 1.25, respectively. The results of the analysis of covariance between adjusted means of both groups for variable of learning show a significant difference between the two groups (F[29,1] = 65.69; P = 0.001). The effect size was 0.69. Conclusion: The multimedia software produced in AJA University of Medical Sciences can be used as a proper educational instrument for teaching the microbiology courses. So, it is better to incorporate the multimedia method as a part of education into curriculum of universities, especially medical sciences universities.
Introducing e-learning in microbiology: A pilot study
IP Innovative Publication Pvt. Ltd., 2018
Introduction: E-learning is the use of internet technologies to facilitate self directed learning and enhance knowledge and performance. Therefore e-learning resources can be used to promote active learning among medical students. Aims & Objectives: 1. To introduce e-learning in the department of Microbiology 2. To assess the perception of the students about e-learning Materials and Methods: This study was carried out in the Department of Microbiology of our medical college. First all 150 students of 2nd prof. MBBS were sensitized about the concept of e-learning and their perception was taken in the form of a feedback questionnaire. Then 75 volunteers were selected and a Google group was formed. The study material was given in the form of power point presentations, photo quiz and text questions with help of Google document. At the end of two months feedback was taken from the students in the form of semi-structured pre-validated questionnaire and data obtained was analysed statistically. Questionnaire included both closed ended as well as open ended questions Results: Data obtained from feedback questionnaire showed that the programme was beneficial for them. Almost 100% students said that new teaching learning method increased the understanding of the topics covered under it and also that the topics covered were important for them. Conclusion: There was a positive response shown by the students towards new teaching learning method. Students found it interesting, relevant and beneficial. It increased their understanding of the topics covered under it. It also increased interaction between teacher and students. To conclude e-resources can be a useful supplement to conventional lecture-based teaching in the medical curriculum. Keywords: e-learning, Google groups, Internet technologies.

Biology learning strategies and designs are courses that teach the principles of learning and teaching and apply them in the biology learning process. So far, students only use printed textbooks as a reference. This is not in accordance with the existing needs, because students are more likely to look for teaching materials from the Internet. This results in learning to be monotonous, not interactive and does not increase student creativity. It is for this reason that researchers develop project-based interactive books so that learning becomes interactive and can increase student creativity. The purpose of this research is to determine the curriculum analysis and student analysis in the development of project-based interactive books. This research is a development research using the 4D model at a specified stage. The analysis data were obtained through descriptive analysis. The resulted showed that 10 materials need to be developed in the module. Can prove that there are ten materia...

Research and Development in Education
Empowerment of Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is often not optimal due to the lack of availability of HOTS-based learning documents. The purpose of this development research was to produce HOTS-based biology learning tools on motion system material for class XI high school. This development research uses the ADDIE model which has five stages: analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate. The product development was validated by learning experts and material experts and then tested on students. The validation sheet was used as a data collection instrument. The validation results from learning experts stated that the learning syllabus was very feasible (84.3%), lesson plans were very feasible (80.2%), student worksheets were feasible (72.2%), and test questions were very feasible (83%). Meanwhile, the validation results from material experts stated that all learning documents were feasible (the percentage of eligibility for syllabus, lesson plans, student worksheets, and test...
