The electronic resources are also known as online information resources covering bibliographic databases, electronic reference books, search engines for full text books, and digital collections of data. At present, the libraries actively procure, organize, display and issue e-forms of books, journals, newspapers, theses and dissertations .In this study, the researcher analyzed the electronic resources usage among the Library science students of Kashmir. Further, the paper aims to highlight the problems faced by Library science students in accessing e-resources, their opinions on feature of e-resources, and their views on usefulness of e-resources compared to that of conventional sources. Because of Covid19 Webbased questionnaire was adopted Open ended and structured questionnaires were used together with an interview schedule and observation to collect data.. Total response collected for the study is 196.The results of the study show that the respondents have an average level of e-resources usage skills, particularly on awareness about many available e-resources. The study shows the awareness and usage of latest technology to access e-resources such as smart phone applications /mobile applications. The study reveal that most of the respondents prefer smart phones i.e. 152 (77.55)

Use of Internet Resources in the S.V. University Digital Library

The introduction of digital information resources on Internet has revolutionised the academic world. The Internet is paving way for a great leap in the field of higher education and research. This paper is an attempt to investigate the use of Internet resources by the academic community of the Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), Tirupati. For this purpose a survey was carried out using questionnaire tool. The results show that users from all branches of science are making use of Internet resources better than social sciences and humanities. Providing training to its users at the beginning of each semester will improve its use and reduce the problems faced by the library users. The paper highlighted the various problems and issues involved in handling digital library and has given suggestions to improve the library services to meet the demands of the users.

APPLICATION OF E-INFORMATION RESOURCES IN LIBRARIES : AN ANALYSIS OF SELECTED UNIVERSITIES OF DELHI

The fundamental point of the university library is to help the college in the areas of picking up, educating, and researching. Any academic institution's library is regarded as its most important component. University libraries all over the world have their own place of significance in the plan of higher learning. Knowledge is not only stored in libraries; it is also distributed there. There is no question that where libraries of colleges and foundations of higher learning are disregarded or not given due acknowledgment, the country all in all endures in light of the fact that the guidelines of study, educating and explore vigorously rely on the characteristics and quantitative help delivered by the college libraries. The discoveries of this paper would be valuable in outlining successful approaches, in regard of electronic data assets, in college libraries, which thus would help library clients, to involve libraries offices in a powerful and amicable way. The study could be used to build digital library infrastructure. This study's findings could also be used by Indian libraries to come up with policies and strategies for making better use of electronic information resources and services. This study was carried out with 900 respondents selected from four central universities in Delhi, and the data were analyzed using a Linkert scale and a questionnaire.

Investigating Awareness and usage of Electronic Resources by the Library Users of Selected Colleges of Solapur University

The study investigated the use of electronic resources/information by library users in selected colleges of Solapur University. Specifically, to investigate the awareness and level of use of electronic resources; perceived reliance, benefits and impact of use of electronic resources on the research activities. The research design for the study was a survey. Questionnaire schedule was used to collect data from 1022 library users from selected colleges of Solapur University. The result revealed that preponderance of users from aided 33.51% Self financing 26.10% and Education colleges 43.24 % preferred to visit the Library once in three days. While analyzing the entire college libraries regarding the frequency of visit, users gave first preference to once in three days i.e. 27.2%. College wise analysis reveals that mainstream of users from Aided Colleges 38%, Self financing Colleges 28.3%, Engineering Colleges 43%, Education colleges 53.2% and Pharmacy Colleges 23.4% are spending their time 1-2 hrs in libraries and 40.8%visit college libraries to issue and return books and in the device usage (33.9%) of users ranked mobile phone as the second device for accessing the e-resources. It is noticeable that 24.7% of users acknowledge from Aided Colleges know about the services of the Library from website but in Self Finance Colleges 8.5% and Pharmacy College 56.4% users aware about the services from the friends it is observed that most of the web technologies are not used by the mainstream of the users due to lack of awareness, training etc.

USE OF E-RESOURCES IN UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES OF SEVEN NORTH EASTERN STATES OF INDIA

E-Resource is a media to help the information seeker to find all e-published information. Among them some of the e-resources are freely available and some are priced. E-resource is the digital medium for communication of information. The benefits of e-resorces are --- online avialability, 24X7 easy access and simultanious use. A good number of Universities have been discharging higher education in North East Region with good library support. It is utmost important to acquinted with e-resources in addition to traditional collection for updated knowledge and information. The Universities are the centres of higher education and research. The speed and scale of electronic revolution can be expected to have impact on research collection with a force not felt since the arrival of printing press. It undoubtly bring new opportunities for information provisions to users/researchers. So the collection will change to the truely hybrid resource which technology makes possible. The use of electronic resources is growing more rapidly than expected and the use of old journals in electronic format is increasing even more rapidly than use of electronic resources overall. This article will help to get a clear picture of the use of e-resources in University Libraries of seven North Eastern states of India.

Need of E-Resources in Academic Libraries

New technologies have always been of interest for libraries both for the potential of increasing the quality of service and for improving efficiency of operations. At present libraries of all kinds whether public, research academic or special libraries are overwhelmingly looking forward to adopt new technologies mostly use of e-resources due to its potential for cost savings in operations and the management of collections and Patrons. E-Resources are digital objects containing electronic representation of books, journals and other form of reading materials and they are converted into a digitized form in order to be read by a computer. Many Library resources are now available electronically and can be access via the web. You can get the information you want, when you need it, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

ACCESS AND RETRIEVAL OF ELECTRONIC RESOURCES IN ACADEMIC LIBRARIES

The study aimed to evaluate the access and retrieval of electronic resources of Academic Libraries in Cebu City. Specifically, the study sought to identify the available electronic resources, the purpose of the library users in using the electronic resources, and the problems encountered by the users. This study employed the descriptive method of research. This method designed to gather factual and evidence-based information on the utilization of the electronic resources. Furthermore, the researcher used the observation approach to identify the problems encountered by the users. This study revealed that there are two electronic journals subscribed by the university library namely, InfoTrac Custom 100 and Educator's Reference Complete. Furthermore, it was found out that the purpose of the users in using electronic resources was for education, research, and projects. However, the problems encountered by the users were the internet connection is very slow, electricity dependent, it takes time to view or download the information, overload of information on the internet, difficulty in finding relevant information, and lack of knowledge or need assistance. The advancement of the available ICT facilities in the university library, utilization of electronic resources will be improved. The primary contributing factor in the library operation is the provision of fast delivery of library services, quick access and retrieval of electronic resources, and immediate demand from the library users. The university library in the 21 st century knowledge management is the ideal learning environment of the modern library users. In the world of technology, library users have sufficient discovery of new knowledge using technological advancement and development of the global perspective. INTRODUCTION The 21 st century is created by far-reaching transforms in information and communication technologies (ICTs). The surfacing and utilizing of ICT is a good number affecting scholarly information. The purpose of computers to information processing has brought numerous services to the academic libraries (Egberongbe, 2011). Consequently, Sharma (2009) presented that the academe has undergone remarkable changes, presumptuous new scope persuaded by technology-driven applications. Academic Libraries comprised a great transformation of collection development and service structures. Thus academic libraries utilized ICT to develop the quick access and retrieval of scholarly information. Furthermore, the significant transformation has been observed in resources development policies and practices. Print resources are progressively more giving way to the electronic form of resources. Tsakonas and Papatheodorou (2006), emphasized the evolution from print to electronic resources consequential in a growth of electronic information, has provided library users with innovative tools and applications for access and retrieval of information. Moreover, electronic resources are valuable research tools in the 21 st century knowledge management, thus, Academic Library provided electronic resources to their users. The library acquired and subscribed electronic journals for accessibility, easily searchable, interactive, added value, inexpensive, and flexibility for the part of the library users. It can be accessed in the library any time and each journal article can be searched quickly the full text
