Determinants of Innovation Culture: a Study of Textile Industry in Santa Catarina

The Brazilian textile industry has suffered the impact of products from Asian countries, mainly because of low prices. Seeking to determine the differential of the textile industry of the state of Santa Catarina, the objective of this study is to analyze the determinants of organizational culturestrategy, structure, support mechanisms, stimulus to innovation and communicationthat influence innovation in textile companies in the state, based on a survey among 441 respondents from 16 firms. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. We conclude that organizational structure was the dimension that had the strongest influence in shaping the culture of innovation. Flexibility and the presence of multifunctional teams are indicators that show that organizations are working to develop a culture of innovation.

This study aimed at analyzing the influence of the innovation culture in innovation performance of products and processes in the textile industry of Vale do Itajaí-SC. The study is characterized as causal, survey and quantitative. The sample included 287 respondents. Data were analyzed by structural equation modeling. A positive ratio between culture of innovation and performance in innovation of products and processes was realized. It was found that innovation culture has greater influence on the process than on the product, and that the size of the organization does not influence the performance in product and processes innovation for the sample studied.

This paper examines corporate innovation with a view to determine its relationship with organizational culture. A critical review of extant literature suggests clearly that innovation matters and it is important for achieving competitive advantage in a highly competitive market. But in achieving corporate innovation, organizational culture plays a very significant role because innovation requires very different business conditions, skills, structures and processes. Previous studies have shown that corporate innovation is influenced either positively or negatively by organizational culture. While some constructs of organizational culture serve as impediments to corporate innovation, others serve as support to corporate innovation. The Organizational Culture as a Support of Innovation Processes

The global economy is in continuous dynamic and evolution, thus the companies need to keep up with these changes. They need to adapt to shorter production cycles and create new products, structures and processes accordingly. This paper examines the scientific literature related to organizational culture and its influence on innovation performance. Literature reveals that research on organizational culture largely confirms existing concepts and models, and it supports the achievement of the profile for an innovation culture. The research identifies organization culture as a promoter of innovation. This culture can be transformed into an innovation culture, used by managers to improve the cultural environment in order to enhance the performance of their company.
Organizational culture and innovation culture: exploring the relationships between constructs

Purpose -The purpose of this paper is to examine the influence of organizational culture (OC) on the building blocks of innovation culture (IC) in Iranian auto companies. Design/methodology -In total, a sample of six large auto companies were examined and 245 questionnaires completed by employees. A conceptual model was developed and the hypotheses analyzed by using exploratory factor analysis and then the direct and indirect effects of constructs were analyzed by path analysis technique. Findings -Findings suggest that the constructs of OC correlate with those of IC. These correlations are all positive except for the relations between consistency and organizational learning, as well as of that between consistency and creativity and improvement. Practical implications -First, this paper has checked the validity of both questionnaires in an Iranian context so that they could be used with more confidence. Second, innovation can flow in the organizations when organizational culture supports it. This research specified those elements which can help managers and executives find the aspects of OC which can increase IC. Originality/value -The paper serves as a reference for fostering an IC in auto companies. Paying attention to different aspects of OC can have a positive effect on making innovation pervasive in organizations. This research was done for the first time in an Asian context and is literally unprecedented in Iran.

This survey was performed aiming at studying the effect of organizational culture on product innovation in SAPCO Co. in 1393. The statistical population included 1600 employees and managers of SAPCO considered by random sampling and 310 people were selected as the sampling size using Cochran formula. Data collection method was performed based on the two questionnaires of product innovation and Denison organizational culture, and data analyses were performed by SPSS. The results of the investigations revealed that the organizational culture dimensions have a meaningful relation with product innovation in SAPCO. The level of organizational culture and its dimensions in SAPCO is desirable and the level of product innovation in SAPCO is desirable as well.

The main purpose of this article was to explore how organizational culture can affect organizational innovation in Cultural Institutions of Moghan (CIP). To do this, the research has mainly focused on the one of important factor and the roles of other organizational factor such as external environment of the organization were not dealt with. The study has used correlation and descriptive-analytic methodologies. The statistical population included the employees (Experts) who were working at Cultural Institutions of Moghan in Iran. Based on a regional classification of M into three cities were randomly selected. Then, the affordable number of samples (the expert employees) was randomly selected in terms of frequency of employees at the CIPs. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between innovation and culture, which is considered one of the most important sources of competitive advantage. For this purpose, the concepts of culture, organizational culture and innovation have been defined and the relationship between them has been revealed. The characteristics of innovation culture, which is a concept arising from the relationship between them, have been determined by examining both the studies directly related to the innovation culture and the studies that investigate the relationship between the organizational culture and innovation. Accordingly, it has been determined that the innovation culture has various characteristics such as organizational learning, participatory decision making, taking risks, accepting uncertainty, customer focus, independence, team and group work, learning from failure, organizational trust.
An exploratory study to identify critical factors of innovation culture in organizations

During the past two decades, there has been a growing trend on knowledge-based organizations. Innovation, on the other hand, plays essential role on building competitive business units. In this paper, we present an exploratory study to identify critical factors of innovation culture in organizations. We detect important factors influencing innovation culture in construction industry based on the implementation of factor analysis. The proposed study designs a questionnaire and distributes it among 400 experts who are involved in construction industry. Cronbach alpha has been calculated as 0.779, which validates the overall questionnaire. The results of factor analysis have indicated that six factors of building cultural infrastructures, education, organizational vision, established culture, strategic culture and flexible culture are the most important items influencing innovation culture
